Emma Stone's Bad Habits: 'Sugar, Wine and Heroin'

Summer's official "It Girl" Emma Stone covers the August issue of Vanity Fair and discusses her three vices: wine, sugar and black tar heroin.

Uh, what?

"That's pretty much it, the heroin, the sugar and the wine -- nothing too crazy," the actress clearly joked when asked about her bad habits.

We don't blame her for wanting to relax with a glass of red after the whirlwind summer she's about to have.

Stone's in not one, but three flicks this summer: 'The Help,' 'Friends With Benefits' and 'Crazy, Stupid, Love.' Three movies means three times the promotional tours and interviews, which often don't stick strictly to business.

"Talking about this stuff is pretty new," she said when asked about her love life.

Stone, who recently broke up with actor Kieran Culkin, is rumored to be dating her 'Spider-Man' co-star Andrew Garfield, but the pair have remained mum on the subject.

Stone, like a true Hollywood pro, reveals that "the only solution I've come to when it comes to things like that -- the health of my family or dating, really personal things -- is not to talk about it."

She may have achieved her celebrity status -- she was nominated for a Golden Globe this year for 'Easy A' -- but that doesn't mean the parts came rolling in at first. She recalled that her "rock bottom" audition for the NBC's 'Heroes' definitely didn't go as planned.

"I could hear that, in the other room, a girl had just gone in and they were saying, 'You are our pick ... On a scale of 1 to 10 you're an 11,'" Stone said about the audition, and then saw Hayden Panettiere walk out of the room. "I went home and just had this meltdown."

Though the 'Heroes' gig didn't work out, Stone feels that she made the right choice when she signed on for what turned out to be her break-out role in 2007's 'Superbad.'

"I did 'Superbad' in what would've been my senior year," she said, adding that dropping out of high school was worth it. "I was playing a senior, and had I graduated I would've missed that opportunity, and had I missed that opportunity I wouldn't be here right now."

Black tar is no joke. It is hideously addictive and readily available. After watching a loved one battle this addiction for over three years (been clean for 8 months), I find Ms. Stone's "joke" tasteless.

I agree with Sina, that's not something to poke fun at. Next we'll probably hear about her going into rehab for just that reason because her movies bombed. Oh and please use some "tan in a tube" or something!

Firstly, Bobby Dee. Get eyes. What a ridiculous statement. I think There are billions of beautiful darker skinned women in the world. 2ndly....Emma...you're a celebrity..part of your job whether you know it or not is to let people in on your personal life. that's the way it's always been in this country and always will be....that phoney stuff I don't talk personal is really kidding yourself....If I were the media I just wouldn't interview you cause you have nothing to say except stupid stuff... Let's see how long you'd be around then. You're earning millions of dollars yearly for pretending to be someone else... be grateful..you never have to grow up like the rest of us and hold down real work being themselves and barely earning enough to get by. so suck it up and be a real human...let us in on the fairytale life you lead...I'm really getting sick of these so called actors hiding from media when they don't want them to take their photo's or not talking about their personal lives...it's just so phoney...that's what people want to know...who you're dating...is that a big deal...we don't need to know all the details just a few..Instead, we get sob stories from them about their addictions, mental health problems...frankly that's too much info for me. just a few fun facts is enough.

So you think we the public should know every intimate detail of some A-list actor or actress's life and ignore the reasons why they struggle to make a living. One reason why this nation is in a mess is because people like you care more about who this celeb is dating or what place another celeb is partying at than what the politicians in Washington are doing with our hard-earned tax money. I care more about what the bureaucrats in Washington and the Wall Street fat cats are doing than the overpaid Hollywood entertainers because what Washington and Wall Street does affect the way we live. If more people paid attention to Washington and Wall Street rather than Hollywood we would not be struggling to make a living.

The first sentence in my reply about should read "...ignore the reasons why WE struggle to make a living." I wish they would allow us to edit our posts to correct any mistakes we make.

haha I think you guys all should calm down about the heroin thing. also, I disagree with the yapper, you have to realize these people are not just celebrities. They are normal people like everyone else. I think we should respect their wishes if they don't want to let people know about their personal lives. Their job is to entertain us on-screen, and any info on their personal they don't want people to know is no one else's bushiness, just like any other person. Just because they are "celebrities" doesn't give us the right to know every detail of there lives.

oh please don't cry for me Argentina!!! are they celebrities or aren't they...you can't seem to make up your mind. They are celebrities and they should know like most smart celebrities know that knowing who they're dating is part of the fun of celebrity watching...it's a game...nothing more...

Doing or joking about drugs is not funny. They are deadly and devastate the people who do it and their family. Emma is wrong for even joking about it. Heroine is killing many people. I dont understand why she even jokes about it...She need to quit........

If she keeps doing drugs her career will be over just like that. Then she will have to struggle like the rest of us. Guess she doesnt care about doing that.....

There are things in life that some people NEVER should do! BELITTLING the effects of heroine is one of them for celebs! For some people these celebs are the ROLE MODELS, whatever they do or say matters to them and sadly these people are too young to know right from wrong most times so if she says its fine, they'll do it, even if she doesnt......she can joke about such stuffs indoors if she wants but not in public!
