Is 'Idol' Thinking About Life Without Jennifer Lopez?
Insiders believe that
Jennifer Lopez's admission to the
BBC that she's "on the fence" about returning to 'American Idol' next season is nothing more than a ploy for a pay hike ... However, 'Idol' is already discussing possible replacements should they not be able to entice J.Lo to return.
"Right now the star of 'American Idol' is Steven Tyler," an insider source tells me. "Everyone thought after Simon announced he was leaving that [Lopez] would fill the void. How wrong were they? It's all about Steven, who's already signed on for season 11.
Jennifer, who currently earns a reported $12 million for her one-year deal with 'Idol' -- a touch below the $35 mil Simon earned -- needs to ask herself how much her contribution to the show is really worth.
"'Idol' has resurrected her much-stalled music career," one music exec tells me, referring to 'On the Floor,' the singer's first radio hit in a while. "Likewise, 'Idol' didn't fall apart when Simon left and Jennifer has to get some of the credit for that. But let's also remember the show didn't increase in ratings and that is also thanks to J.Lo."
Jennifer told the BBC: "I loved 'Idol,' but I have a lot of other things happening, and it's going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for the next year ... We're not really at the breaking point of 'You have to make a decision right now!'"
Be careful, Jennifer, I'm being told the names Shania Twain and Shakira are already being mentioned in hopes of bringing in viewers!

When is Idol going to hire 'real' singers'. Not the J Lo's, the Rihanna's, not the Beyonce's not the Taylor Swift's and not the Katy Perry's.. They all SUCK! They are all pre manufactured bimbos who can sell perfume,clothing and cosmetics They are not singers!!!

Steven Tyler as the star judge on American Idol is as stupid as Simon as the lead singer of Aerosmith. Tyler was a desperate replacement for Simon, who not only defined the show, but also was a huge part of its success. Simon's blunt honesty was groundbreaking, and had everyone on the edge of their seats waiting to hear what he was going to say. His critique was the one both viewers and contestants valued most. Tyler is just a rock star plopped into a judges' seat. You would think Fox would have learned from the Ellen debacle that replacing Idol's iconic cast members with random celebrities does not work.
I think that JLO did a great job on Idol. She predected that Scotty was the one! and she was right he did win. Remember that It is America who picks the Winner and she new what america wanted. Her Judging was on the money. Hope she stays on

Well, I am glad that you injoyed Idol, but I actually enjoyed Idol. And if you think that the arguing was a bit too mush well all I can say it was a bit too much. About there being professional, maybe their professionals.
Note to Sheree: If you are going to correct one's grammar, get a grammatical grip first. You tried to put someone in their place by correcting their "there" to "their". The correct English usage would have required a "they're".

Stephen Tyler is the star of the show. J'lo was just "arm candy" and Randy is a joke. Replace both Randy & J'Lo with some real singers

back to haley, she was a spoiled skank, as for spelling errors , if you dont want to be judged then use spell check. Im a teacher and I use spell check just so I can be sure Im not looking like a second grader.
i think it would be fun and interesting if they could get a new female judge every season.

Idol was a JOKE this year...no one took any of the judges seriously. I had high hopes after the audition rounds, with each of the judges offering up solid, valid critiques. All that went to hell as soon as the live shows started. Get rid of all three of them and bring in some people who will actually help these kids grow as singers. Sheryl Crow is an excellent suggestion, and I'm no country fan, but I think Shania Twain would do a great job as well.

Jen is a great performer but not a true singer, her replacements actually would fit more in the singing department. Steven is an Icon and a true voice, Randy serves and know a star when he see's one!
