Emily Maynard and Brad Womack Are Officially Over

For months we've been asking 'are they or aren't they?' but now Emily Maynard is finally speaking out about her failed small screen romance with 'The Bachelor,' Brad Womack. After giving single gals across the nation the teary-eyed, down on one knee finale they needed last March on the season finale of the reality show, Maynard and Womack couldn't keep the spark alive once the cameras stopped rolling.

"We're no long engaged," Maynard told People.

Maynard's blunt confession to her single status comes after battling paparazzi and tabloid rumors that she and Womack weren't living happily ever after once the director called cut. Now the 25-year-old blonde beauty is airing out her failed TV relationship in an attempt to end "all the media speculation" and "move on and get back to normal."

The media spotlight on Maynard's love life has made it especially difficult to protect her six-year-old daughter, Ricki -- who was less than thrilled to meet Womack during Maynard's 'Bachelor' hometown visit date.

And while Maynard has not blamed Womack for the dissolution of their relationship, he is taking complete responsibility for the couple's downfall.

"The demise of our relationship was completely my fault," the 38-year-old told People.

But Maynard insists that neither party was totally responsible for their break-up and the pair still has a great amount of love and respect for one another.

"Just because we love each other doesn't mean we're right for each other," she cooly said.

So does Maynard's no hard feelings stance on the relationship mean that she's over the heartbreak and may even be taking the reins as 'The Bachelorette'? We'll find out when she sits down with the show's Chris Harrison on July 11.

An engaged Bachelor couple breaking up? STOP THE PRESSES!! Its not like this has ever happened before. Oh, wait, it has, EVERY FREAKING SEASON. And yet, there will be another one next year and everyone will be surprised when that couple breaks up after the final show airs.

Trista & Ryan got married. As far as I know they're still together. As for the rest, I'm not sure.. It seems like The Bachelorette/Bachelor seasons are hit or miss. Some seasons are ok, the others like this one, eh.. I think Ashley's the worst, "actress", they've had to date.

I'm with you....in all the seasons of Bachelor/ette there has only been one couple that actually got together, stayed together and got married...but since I don't follow the tabs I couldn't tell you if they are STILL together....why do people care about this stuff...I don't watch this reality show...it's crazy.

I sure hope they don't give this woman her own Bachelorette season. Her little brat will never accept anyone in mommy's life and Emily herself will never let anyone in. She's too busy sleeping with the ghost of her dead fiance. She was the WRONG choice for Brad to pick but he just had to have the cute little southern belle blonde didn't he? I thought the runner up was better for him, more down to earth. Emily was just a blonde fake bimbo with a bratty kid.

Amen! If Emily is as good at relationships as she is at raising at child, she will remain a bachelorette forever. I stopped watching this show when her daughter was such a brat and everybody just giggled about it! It has gotten to be so scripted it no longer is a reality show. I will never watch again. Now, bring on Big Brother. That is entertainment and an excellent study in human psychology and socilogy.

M oron here, because I did watch that show. Sue, I don't think there is any evidence showing that the child is a brat. However, I think you are correct that Ricki will never accept a man in her mother's life. Emily and Ricki have been together too long, just the two of them, and her daughter would not except a third person. Brad certainly is not that person. Let's not forget that he has a temper from hell. I don't think Brad was the worse bachelor. I would give that prize to Mr. On-the-wings-of-love. No question he just wanted a show biz career. No question he is gay. Remember he would not even sleep with Vianna, or whatever her name is. I'm no longer wathing. I have switched to PBS to try to restore my brain.

And you know her daughter to call her a brat? How cold can one person be? Her fiance died and right she has not gotten over that. If you were engaged and your fiance died would you get over it. You are just cruel and uncaring.

He will find true love when they bring him back to the the gay version of the show along with Jake Pavelka. The two of them are gayer than Rupaul and it's time they took a step out of that closet. I would say they would make a perfect pair but they both have egos bigger than that state of texas so tha would never work.

It is a reality show, theatre again, it's not real.
Take it with a grain of salt, it sells advertising time, no more no less.
