The first music video off James Franco's EP with drag queen and performance artist Kalup Linzy makes no sense -- and we really wouldn't expect anything different from the actor/writer/student/artist/host/musician.Apparently, Franco's musical endeavor with Linzy is legit. The duo, dubbed Kalup & Franco, will release their first EP, 'Turn It Up,' on July 12. Lucky us -- we all get a preview thanks to their new music video for the song, 'Rising.'
The video is a 3 minute, 53 second trip: a blurry haze dominated mostly by Linzy (he directed and edited the clip), with bits of Franco dropped in to add to the absurdity. We're talking floating heads and superimposed lightning, folks.
"James and I have collaborated for over a year," Linzy said about his new EP with the Oscar-nominated actor, according to Pitchfork. "He contributed vocals during recording sessions. He and I also exchanged video and vocals."

Good thing they aren't going on tour cause that is CRAP! Didn't even make sense. No one would buy tickets for that. It was so dumb that I'm actually less intelligient now for having spend the 3:53 seconds listening to it. However, I must say I do like Franco as an actor.

James, the notion that you are a multi-talented artist is probably the work of your publicist. I say stick to acting, as I don't see a future in music for you.

Very Artsy, great message in the words spoken, love it! Very NYC in the Village.

I think this guy thinks he has more artistic talent than he actually has. I read a review of his photography and he apparently has very little of the creative eye. Now he's just operating on hubris.
Plus, he shouldn't work with anyone named Linzy. It's too close to sounding like that other "milk"aholic loony.
