Christina Aguilera Signs on for Season Two of 'The Voice'

With one season down, Christina Aguilera is already gearing up for the second season of NBC's 'The Voice.' According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aguilera signed on to keep her spot as the talent fairy godmother on the singing show.

Although this year's winner was not Aguilera's protégé (fellow judge, Adam Levine's team member, Javier Colon, took the $100,000 piece of cake and recording contract), she's revved up to put a win next to her name for season two.

"If they'll have me, I'd be delighted to be back," Aguilera coyly told THR before confirming that she would in fact return to the show.

And why not? The winner's cash prize is chump change compared to the diva's salary. Aguilera makes $225,000 per episode -- that $150,000 more than what her fellow judges -- Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green -- rake in.

But according to the show's host, Carson Daly, Aguilera or no Aguilera, the show that is beginning to rival 'American Idol' would have lived on anyway.

"This show is bigger than any of its coaches or the host," Daly told the New York Post. "This show will live on in perpetuity with many a star in those chairs."

Although this may be true, we have a feeling that Aguilera certainly brings in a viewer or two.

it was SO predictable that JAVIER COLON was going to win all along, he was lauded as the BEST from the start, and I was dreading it but still enjoyed the show for the most part. he is so stereotypically good, and has the ubiquitous shaved head and white wife and mixy kids, blah blah.

Adam was the best and most honestjudge/mentor. At least when he told Casey why he gave Javier more points, knowing it was his last chance to really make it in the business. Kudos to both Adam and Javier. Casey will have a great career as well. The other judges weren't honest by giving a 50/50 split to their singers and I think it made a difference in the end. All four singers will go on to be successful. The show in general is much more applealing than AI on so many levels that I doubt I'll watch much of AI next season.

I love christinas music, but she was very obnoxious. I don't understand why she would be paid more???? I think they should get new judges every season, otherwise it will get boring. I never really watched or liked idol, but I love the voice, 'cause it has nothing to do with looks. I want Rob Thomas to be a judge.

Oh please, Idol doesn't have that much to do with looks! What about Fantasia or Ruben Studdard??? They weren't the best looking and they won. The Voice only has blind auditions in the very beginning, then it can be based on looks. Same difference as Idol, anyway, Idol's 100% better and always will be. Ratings don't lie and Idol was ALWAYS in 1st place!

The show is not rivaling American Idol. When it was up against Idol, Idol was still number 1 in the ratings, in fact during the second or third week of airing, The Voice was in 20th place, and Idol was still in 1st. Now that all the regular shows are done for this season, The Voice was like number 3, but that's ONLY because there was nothing good on against it. I did watch some of the show and think it's OK, but it'll NEVER be as good as Idol, so don't even think about it CARSON!!

This show really irritates me. It turns out that it's not about the "new" singers, but about the judges also. From what I've seen, the judges just have to get in there and sing along with them. Seems that this is all about their (judges) egos "look at me" kind of attitude. I just wish they would SIT DOWN, and let the new aspiring singers do their thing.

Fact is She talks too much, she has some tallent but she is not as good of a singer as adam or blake, as for cee lo ? he's a producer?....
carson handles the show well.... but the viewers need to get to know the contestants better....it's clear the show is about how good the coaches do with the tallent they pick and not about the contestants.

I loved the show but thought Christina was out of line at times. My top two choices actually made the top two (just in reverse) Vicci & Baldy Beverly sounded too much like Melissa Etheridge to win and Javier & Dia sounded more original and deserved the top two spots. btw/ I don't think that Christina deserves any more pay than the other three gets.

They should either have it to every year all 4 judges change, or that the winning coach only leaves, but they should for sure all get the same amount, or which ever coach wins should get the most money the next year, etc.
