Heidi Klum: You're Never Too Old for Topless Tanning

'Project Runway' creator and supermodel mogul Heidi Klum has no reason to be shy about her bangin' body at age 38 and she tells PopEater that she thinks women should feel proud to wear a bikini -- or even less -- at any age.

"I love tanning my body and I don't love tan lines necessarily. I don't think too much about what other people think or if they think this woman is too old to wear just a bikini or a bikini bottom. I come from Europe so I'm not American," Klum told us at Wednesday night's event for her cover of the biggest issue of Hamptons magazine ever at STK in NYC. "It is very different here than it is German or Italy. I grew up with men wearing Speedos on the beach and topless women on the beach at any age."

Klum, who has a new line of sneakers with New Balance, has been running four miles a day and blogging about it on her new AOL site. Heidi recently went running with soon to be married Kim Kardashian but the pair didn't chat much about Kim's upcoming nups.

"I don't think she needs any advice. She's so smart and sexy and she knows exactly what she wants," Klum said. Will she be invited to the big day?

"I don't know," she laughed. "We'll see."

Klum was similarly tight-lipped about the upcoming season of Project Runway (where Kardashian is guest judging!) but she did tell us things will be pretty fierce.

"There are some bloody knees and fainting," Klum confessed.

You are so right, Mary. It seem every time a model opens their mouths they say something ridiculous. Aside from melanoma, who wants to look like an old, leather handbag?

Well said-I was diagnosed with a skin cancer on my hand 3 weeks ago that had to be surgically removed and lasered. I don't tan like Heidi does either. In about 10 years her years of tanning her bod may catch up with her. 1 in 5 people will get a skin cancer in their lifetime. The dermatologist that did my cancer surgery told me he had treated a-get ready-9 year old with melanoma this summer! Yes its very unusual-but melanoma is getting more frequent in younger folks-mainly thanks to tanning beds-this 9 year old had a pool. Never too young for cancer guys.

Some folks look good at any age but some need to cover up. Be it for safety reasons (the very fair-skinned shouldn't be on the beach tanning) or simply not to scare the children (morbidly obese folk need to keep their rolls under cover), not everyone should unveil themselves in public.

Heidi's "stunning model" days are over; however, plastic surgery, cosmetics and make-up artists can keep her attractive for a few more years. She can't act, so she belongs with Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Although sex always sells, I believe that Project Runway will get old fast. I hope that she found time to get an education beyond modeling, or she will end up doing physical fitness programs like Jane Fonda.

You think Project Runway will get old fast? The 9th season is starting in July...if it is not old now then it won't get old "fast". One would think that getting old fast would mean it ending after season 1, 2 3 or even 4. But it looks like it is still a hit and even if that was the last season it would have taken 9 seasons to get old - that is not fast!

She has made herself a millionaire through her modeling and Project Runway, so she doesn't need any more education. How well have you done?

Having said that, tanning is extremely unhealthy and no one should go out and do it. Might as well slather oneself with Crisco and climb in a frying pan.
