'Tudors' star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was rushed to a Central London hospital Tuesday night after reports that he had taken a large quantity of pills in an attempt at suicide, according to The Sun. Now, a friend of the actor is speaking out, saying that Meyers' dangerous condition was due to a relapse rather than a go at taking his own life."It was not a suicide attempt," a source close to the actor told Us Weekly. "He did relapse and was hospitalized for that, but was released."
Paramedics arrived at the troubled star's Maida Vale home Tuesday evening to find Meyers "slumped" on the floor. But upon their arrival, the actor refused medical attention, prompting paramedics to call the police.
"Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment," Scotland Yard confirmed. "The man was taken to hospital."

I think the guy is a good actor and I wish him the best.

Forget the quality of his acting. This man needs to finally get his life in order or do the job right next time, one or the other.
I pray this beautiful talented man, who was simply the best Henry VIII ever, gets the help he is screaming out for. I, too, hope Robert Downey, Jr., can take him under this wing...What an example!

Ugh, women. Don't get so emotionally involved. If he gets the help he needs and embraces it then he does, if he doesn't then life will surely go on for the rest of us and I'd point out to you that there would be much more worthy sympathy figures than someone who had the world by the gonads as this guy did metaphorically speaking.
I was sadden to hear that Jonathan fell off the wagon again. He has so much potential yet he chooses to waste it all because of alcohol.I hope you will read this message from me. You need to straighten up and fly right. Because a talent like your is a terrible thing to waste. You also need to stop feeding into the stereo type that says all Irishmen are drunks. If you can't do it for yourself. Then do it in memory of your mother and your fans.

NO JRM NO! Whether a relapse or an attempt (it doesn't matter), please, please get better. You're way cool, a great actor, way sexy and if I could, I would give you the biggest bromance hug. Hang in there buddy. I used to struggle with addiction and depression and a severely fractured family too. It just takes time and some will power. Surround yourself with those who actually care for you, not agents or the party train crowd who want to make a buck off of you. There are authentic people in this world who can help you JRM and not use you for you celebrity status.

To musiqlover You are absolutely right !! Not religion, but a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It's taken me some time
to arrive at this understanding. I am so thankful that I have
arrived !!

I sure hope Jonathan Rhys Meyers gets his act together. He's one of the finest young talents in films today. He's a bold actor willing to take risks, as in 'Velvet Goldmine'. It would be a tragedy to lose him.
