Beyonce Surprises Kids Performing at Target (Video)

Beyonce made a group of children very happy this week when she made a surprise appearance at Harlem Target and even joined them for a special performance.

According to CBS New York, over 150 kids from various youth groups gathered at the store to learn some of Beyonce's signature dance moves with help from her backup dancers. A group of kids was on stage performing a routine to B's 'Countdown' when the singer herself appeared to join in on the fun.

With squeals of delight and looks of "OMG!" on their faces, the kids kept dancing in their once-in-a-lifetime performance while Beyonce herself got in the groove.

"It was amazing. I didn't even know she was behind me," Symone Huggins, 15, said. "I turned and was like 'Oh my God!'"

Beyonce's connection with her fans has made her a role model for those hoping to hit the stage themselves one day -- even if that day is many years away.

"She's so nice and she has great music and everything, and that's why I just want to be like her when I grow up so bad," Jordyn Smith, 7, said.

The isn't the first time the singer has surprised her fans during a concert. In May, Beyonce dropped by Harlem's PS 161 Pedro Albizu Campos Middle School during a student performance of 'Move Your Body/Get Me Bodied.'

Beyonce's latest album, '4,' dropped this week and is slated to debut at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week.

Beyonce is a wonderful person and the kids really enjoyed being on stage with her. She is a wonderful supporter for anything which has to do with kids. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Dressed like a street-walker, as usual. Way to be a role model, Beyonce. Way to contribute to the over-sexualization of young girls by showing them you have to dress like a hooker to succeed. If this were an adult function, or had she been surprising adults, my opinion would be different. But this, coupled with the skimpy outfit she wore when supporting the First Lady's retarded anti-childhood obesity campaign, confirms that she has no business attempting to be a positive influence on young girls.

@Janet: I didn't imply that anyone besides Beyonce was attempting to be a role model to girls. If you have a young daughter and dress like Beyonce (or Selena Gomez, or Lady Gaga, or any one of a number of talented females who feel the need to sell sex instead of their talent), and/or allow your young daughter to dress like Beyonce et al, then your morals are as questionable as theirs.

And attempting to put down my appearance in the same breath you call ME a sad creature? Let me give you a word to look up in a dictionary that I'm sure you'll have to borrow from someone: hypocrite.

I'd rather my daughter look up to Beyonce than a ridiculous backstabbing politician. Wearing a short dress doesn't make you a street walker. Selling albums doesn't make you a bad person. And have you ever thought that every celebrity isn't all about their fame? Beyonce loves what she does so she can make kid's days by surprising them at target. She is unbelievably talented and is an incredible humanitarian. If you try and deny that, you haven't done your research.

To be honest, if this was a video of Carrie Underwood or Faith Hill or something, wearing the same dress, you wouldn't care.

I think this is great of her to show those kids suport like that. Thats all she had to do was show up for a few min. to show that they are worth wild. We need more people like her to give our young people suport . Someone they look up to....Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!
