Schwarzenegger to Pay Out 'Very Generous Divorce Settlement'

According to Radar Online, after Maria Shriver officially filed for divorce from estranged husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the 'Terminator' reportedly agreed to give his soon-to-be ex-wife a "very generous divorce settlement."

In accordance with California law, due to a Community Property statute, all assets obtained during a marriage must be split 50/50. But according to reports, Schwarzenegger is seriously considering giving Shriver more than the state mandated sum.

"Arnold realized he is to blame for the collapse of his marriage," an inside source told Radar. "Maria was a loving wife and mother, and he doesn't think that any amount of money can minimize what he has put her through. He wants to do the right thing, and go above and beyond what is required of him under the law."

Shriver formally filed for divorce on July 1 and had previously hired investigators to ascertain just how much her husband was worth. Settlement discussions between Shriver and Schwarzenegger's lawyers have reportedly been underway for more than two months. The former California Governor, who fathered a child with the couple's longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena, can total his egregious wealth to roughly $500-$750 million, the source divulged.

"This is going to be a very amicable divorce, and it won't be played out in the media," the source continued. "Neither one of them wants that. Arnold hasn't lost his mind, he is going to be giving away his fortune to her. He wants to show his children he is taking responsibility for his actions."

The press will be the last ones clued into the details of the divorce if the public couple has anything to do with it. Their lawyers will be conversing with a private judge who will rule on the settlement before alerting the presiding judge to the decision.

But one thing the couple has already agreed on are their views on how their two minor children -- Patrick and Christopher -- should be parented. Both Shriver and Schwarzenegger are seeking joint custody.

OMG..he was one of the worst womanizers ever..He would have sex with a woman anywhere he could hide/ even once in a closet at a party..As a President I believe Kennedy was ok, but in his personal life he was not wonderful...Neither was Robert...The old man Kennedy carried on many affairs right under Roses's nose.. Living once for months openly in Hollywood with a starlet.. Kennedy men needed a good horse whipping..Kennedy women needed to be given sainthood....

Just because she's a "Kennedy" does not give him the right to cheat on her. If the family was so bad, she's definately not a normal family member. I think she's wonderful, and deserves to get above and beyond the state required minimum. I think he's the dog in this case, until proven otherwise by something "Kennedy like" that Maria has done

The article does not say whether Arnold paid Mildred out of Maria's & his joint account, which would put ARNOLD in a LEGAL MESS!! So maybe he's trying to cover it up? It's a shame this man ran the State of California when he can't even run his own private life satisfactory! I'm glad he's no longer governor, his political career is done for!

Arnold did something good by offering more. The truth is that Maria wants money from the Divorce and she proved it by hiring investigators to check Arnold's worth. Previously she urged the Court to deny him funds for his personal support. So it is obvious she wants to take all from there marriage. Arnold, you are a man. Money isn't everything.

Arnold is being a man. No matter what the haters may say, he's trying to do what's right, even though he knew how much he messed up. I don't care about their private business, I still like Arnold as an actor, and just because of what he did, I'm not gonna stop watching his movies. His personal life doesn't have a thing to do with how great of an actor he is, and I can't get mad at him for what he did. Everybody makes mistakes, I'm not gonna hate him for it.
