Could Casey Anthony Judge, Belvin Perry, Be the Next Judge Judy?

Forget attorney, Jose Baez. Forget Casey Anthony. The real star of the never ending legal circus that dominated the holiday weekend is none other than Judge Belvin Perry, who, experts agree, could have a second career waiting for him as a television judge.
"I can certainly see him becoming the next big TV judge," said attorney Joey Jackson, who has been covering the trial for Fox News.
After months of court proceedings, on Tuesday, Perry confirmed the jury's verdict that Anthony was not guilty of first degree murder -- a verdict that visibly outraged the celebrity Twitter community. But Perry's shocking ruling, although an unpopular one, may only further catapult him into the celebrity judge world. Guilty or not guilty, Perry stuck to his guns throughout the trial, keeping attorneys in line and holding them accountable, dealing with even the craziest aspects of the case with an even temperament and being patient, yet rigid, in moving the case forward.
"He's been on the bench since the late 80's and has presided over several high profile cases so his résumé is TV cred ready,"explained 'Cult of Celebrity' author, Cooper Lawrence of the 'Scott & Todd' morning show on PLJ. "But the real draw is that he doesn't like shenanigans going on in his courtroom, like when he let Baez have it with, 'We're not stopping anymore for you to get a file!'"
Lawrence adds that Perry's hand gestures are already 'Saturday Night Live' parody ready. All he needs is a catch-phrase.
"Judge Judy has 'Don't pee on my shoes and tell me it's raining,'" Lawrence said. "He could have 'Let's get it done!'"
Using a well-publicized trial to move from the real to the televised bench is not unprecedented. Judge Larry Seidlin, formerly of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Florida, famously tried to parlay his oversight of the Anna Nicole Smith body custody hearing into a gig on the small screen once the trial wrapped up. Seidlin has reportedly had several talks with Paramount productions but has yet to secure his own gig.
If he can make it happen, Belvin Perry (a name made for television) could stand to make a fortune in television. Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of 'Judge Judy,' is one of the highest paid women on television, making approximately $45 million a year for her half-hour program.
One Hollywood casting agent even told
PopEater he tried to get a meeting with Perry but was told he would have to wait until the end of the trial -- but it looks like Perry's schedule just cleared up.

Judge Judy is not a very good judge. That is why she IS on television. She renders more "personal" opinions that LAW!
Tragic cases like the Anthony one should not make celebrities out of Judges. No he should not get a TV show!

She renders both, one more subtle than the other but she indeed renders BOTH! You couldn't carry her robes...I'm quite surprised she has endured as long as she has adjudicating imbeciles and their goofy navel lint issues for years. It never ends yet these "people" are still allowed to vote.
In a poll taken after the trial on 48% believed that Casey was guilty of murder. So there are lots of people that believe the case was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt which most of don't know what is ...cause you're blind by her actions to the tragedy. There is no proof of murder just horrible judgment after the death of that poor baby. And if you think her dad George is a victim, you're blind again. He knew about that baby and helped hide her body. They both deserved to be guilty of a crime pertaining to the treatment of a body but since it was not one of the charges... she is not held accountable. It's the prosecutions fault for going crazy with extreme charges in hopes of satisfying Nancy Grace and her mindless followers. The media is at fault! The prosecutors are at fault for going too far. If they had charges that they could have proven; then she would serve her time.

CLAP, CLAP, CLAP You are exactly spot on. The court of public opinion had already convicted Casey before the trial ever started. I pray people don't ever find themselves in a situation where they are telling the truth and people don't believe them. I'm sad that sweet baby is gone, I wasn't there and I can't say that Casey Killed Caylee. Yes something definitely happened to that precious little one but the evidence didn't prove that Casey killed her.
Casey Anthony will meet her maker some day...Wonder what he'll say? I'm still in shock, just cant believe it...

He would look better next to Auntie Jemimah making hot cakes. Well, not better, but more normal.

that was an evil nasty racist thing to say. so that is all you can think of when you see a black man in such a high position presiding over the direction of a coveted white life. aunt jemima.... you are a jerk.
Are you kidding me? This guy can't even speak "correkly" (as he would say it). Give this judge a try and I guarantee you that only a fool would watch it. No one will ever beat Judge Judy. For one, she speaks correct English.

I am sure you would leave the bench for 45 million a year.

I thought he was a very good judge in this trial, but would be disappointed if being a TV judge was a career aspiration or even under consideration.

Judge Judy does have a smart mouth. I'm really surprise someone has not taught her to have respect for a man.
She needs the back hand of a real man !
Reply
Yeah, like any man is man enough to give Judge Judy the back hand. Don't test Judy, she's the best!
Judge Judy may have served as a "real" judge, but in her television program she is an arbitrator. This means she can rule on her instincts and her personal opinions raqther than evidence presented. Not bad for 45 million a year, huh?

The jury - not Judge Perry - found the defendant not guilty
of the murder and child abuse charges.
Maybe Jo Piazza or an editor should have the courtesy to check facts before describing a jury verdict as a "judge's shocking ruling?"
Should a trial be an "audition" ?
Should a trial be broadcast ?
These would seem to better questions than whether Judge Perry
should be a TV judge. He was already "cast" in that role
by televising the trial.

Judge Perry has not only proven his judicial prowess but also his brilliant observations. Judge Perry asked the attornies to tell him the indicated time on the courtroom clock. Their responses prompted the judge to cite how a single source of apparent information could be interpreted differently. I think the only problem would be the slowness of judge's measured reponses. TV audiences used to quick retorts would be turned off by this

he blew this trial so his reward is television you people are warped

I THINK A GOOD CATCH-PHRASE FOR JUDGE PERRY WOULD BE WHAT HE SAID AT THE TRAIL TO THE STATE AND THE DEFENCE "THIS IS NOT MY FIRST RODEO" .I LOVED THAT WHEN HE SAID IT .
