Could Casey Anthony Judge, Belvin Perry, Be the Next Judge Judy?

Forget attorney, Jose Baez. Forget Casey Anthony. The real star of the never ending legal circus that dominated the holiday weekend is none other than Judge Belvin Perry, who, experts agree, could have a second career waiting for him as a television judge.

"I can certainly see him becoming the next big TV judge," said attorney Joey Jackson, who has been covering the trial for Fox News.

After months of court proceedings, on Tuesday, Perry confirmed the jury's verdict that Anthony was not guilty of first degree murder -- a verdict that visibly outraged the celebrity Twitter community. But Perry's shocking ruling, although an unpopular one, may only further catapult him into the celebrity judge world. Guilty or not guilty, Perry stuck to his guns throughout the trial, keeping attorneys in line and holding them accountable, dealing with even the craziest aspects of the case with an even temperament and being patient, yet rigid, in moving the case forward.

"He's been on the bench since the late 80's and has presided over several high profile cases so his résumé is TV cred ready,"explained 'Cult of Celebrity' author, Cooper Lawrence of the 'Scott & Todd' morning show on PLJ. "But the real draw is that he doesn't like shenanigans going on in his courtroom, like when he let Baez have it with, 'We're not stopping anymore for you to get a file!'"

Lawrence adds that Perry's hand gestures are already 'Saturday Night Live' parody ready. All he needs is a catch-phrase.

"Judge Judy has 'Don't pee on my shoes and tell me it's raining,'" Lawrence said. "He could have 'Let's get it done!'"

Using a well-publicized trial to move from the real to the televised bench is not unprecedented. Judge Larry Seidlin, formerly of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Florida, famously tried to parlay his oversight of the Anna Nicole Smith body custody hearing into a gig on the small screen once the trial wrapped up. Seidlin has reportedly had several talks with Paramount productions but has yet to secure his own gig.

If he can make it happen, Belvin Perry (a name made for television) could stand to make a fortune in television. Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of 'Judge Judy,' is one of the highest paid women on television, making approximately $45 million a year for her half-hour program.

One Hollywood casting agent even told PopEater he tried to get a meeting with Perry but was told he would have to wait until the end of the trial -- but it looks like Perry's schedule just cleared up.

Oh please...enough of that hypocrisy...that whole trial was a mockery of our justice system...
Judge Judy is real...and, most of the time, right on target. She is knowledgeable and credible..I won't miss her. On my flights, I see many watching her on the individual t.v. screens.

I do admire Judge Perry. However, I have to ask how he made it through law school, etc. and still can't pronounce his th. Certainly some instructor along the way would have given him simple speech lessons. He speaks slowly dragging phrases with that annoying "aaaa" after every so many words. I don't believe he'd ever make a TV judge for THAT reason.

Please people, Judy is a person that the hired people in the background-Yea hired cant stand her. She acts as if the show is from NY when it is in Hollywood at the old tribune building. She has cars in Conn. tagged with Florida plates that never saw Florida that is because there are not inspections on cars in Florida and the insurancew is cheaper. She makes bank good for her but dont think Judy is God far from it and she is only a arbitrator and not a judge and what a shame because if these people were not paid to appear the cases lack knowledge of law and you get one bad decision after the other . And dont forget that she does not have blacks on the show . The judge Joe Brown show is the next room to the left and that is where Black cases end up-

It is my opinion that if this judge is good he needs to stay where he is, not "playing" judge on TV. The shows on TV are only entertainment (so many of the cases tried on these shows are trivial and often downright stupid)while good judges are needed for real trials. Judge Judy is very entertaining, but I would never take a serious case before her.

I believe everyone (Investigators, prosecutors and Defense) knew the real cause of death but failed to accept the true facts which in my opinion Casey attempted to put her baby to sleep for a extended period of time so she could go out on the town. However she didn't know what she was doing and over chloroformed her causing her death. Then she panicked and the rest is history. She is guilty of causing death by accident and failing to notify authorities. If she was tried in this fashion we would have a Guily verdict and she would have received a sentence of 15 to 25 Years in Jail. That's my take in this matter.

And how EXACTLY did they figure out the real cause of death if it was just dry bones left? That's why they (prosecutors, investigators, and public at large) is speculating! If they had definitive proof then maybe/no she would actually have GUILTY verdict!

Judge Perry did contribute to the "Not Guilty" verdict by over- riding the State's twice objecting to juror #4 because she "didn't like to judge people", simply because she is a minority and the defense was having a fit because there were not many in the pool of over 200. He also allowed the juror who had a vaction to London, leaving on July 7, to be on the jury. He was more concerned with getting a jury seated quickly and getting the trial over quickly than to seeing that justice was served.

JUDGE JUDY IS DISRESPECTFUL

To say Judge Judy is disrespectful is an understatement! You must also add unprofessional and a disgrace to the judicial system and to the litigants that enter the courtroom! Judge Judy love to tell litigant how much education she has and how long she was on the bench. All the education she receive never taught her to be disrespectful! Or a bully! A white young man walked in the courtroom and immediately Judge Judy called him a THING”! She told a black man he was a zero! That is not right that is not professional!

America has witness incident of bullying all over the country. But for some reason Judge Judy is tolerate! Back in the 1900 white judges where disrespectful and openly and blatantly racist! There was no discipline no monitoring of white judges behavior or their disrespect! Judge Judy have brought the racist disrespectful unprofessional from the 1900 to 2011! Judge Judy constantly criticize litigant receiving SSI ,welfare or disability! Always claiming those people are why the country are in financial mess!

This is a person that make 30 million a year insulting and disrespecting American citizen. For the last 13 years she receive The Bush Tax Cuts. She didn’t need! Bet everything I have she didn’t refuse it!

Americans are call to serve in the military by our government. To fight and died for their country. Americans should never be disrespected in any courtroom. Authority disrespected is no authority! Judge Judy should be made to stop disrespecting Americans!

The Shameful thing is Judge Judy is not alone! Judge Jeanine Pirro and Judge Mathis and Brown are just as nasty and disrespectful! Judge Milian is in a different category of disrespect! She is mentally stupid! She yells stomp off the bench and act like a two year old!
