Denise Richards shocked even her closet friends last week when she announced she had adopted a little girl, and although few details have been made public about the child we can confirm the adoption was a long time in the making and inspired by the passing of Denise's own mother in 2007."Denise has wanted to adopt for a long time and this was something she talked about with her mom before she passed away," a friend of the actress tells me exclusively. "She wanted to wait to start the process until things were calm with her custody of her two daughters she has with Charlie, (Sam, 7, and Lola, 6) and mourning her mom."

So yet another woman who can have children decides its easier to just buy a newborn. Many women who wait and wait for years with empty arms will wait a bit longer because its the "in" thing to adopt in Hollywood.

Just because she had two biological kids doesn't mean she can have more. She is 40, and fertility drops as you age. It's not our business.
I for one am happy for her and unlike the rude moron who on here who said the kid was probably a spook im glad that there is another child who got a good home. I just hope she wasnt like the lady who adopted my nephew, she lied and had his foster parent who was a close friend of hers knowingly present false evidence to the court before he was even eligble to be adopted causing my sister to lose her parental rights. yay for families who adopt I do however believe that adoption laws need to be changed giving birth parents the time and oooprtunity and resources to gain back custody of their children. The courts say the goal is to reunite kids with their parents but in 60 percent of cases these days thats not what happens.

I can understand her wanting to adop to give a child a good loving home and for that i say cudos to her but at the same time she can have children she should have had invitro or done it the natural way thereby giving someone who cant have kids and has been waiting for years in some cases a chance to fulfill their dream of having kids.

And if she had had in vitro fertilization, you would have slammed her for doing that when there are plenty of children waiting to be adopted.
Can't help but wonder WHY these celebs all want to adopt little babies, but have absolutely NO PROBLEM ignoring all the children currently in orphanages who would LOVE to be adopted, but are not desirable because they are multi-racial, were born with drug addictions or other disabilities, aren't cute and cuddly....the list goes on.
