Those hoping to hear more from 'American Idol' star Pia Toscano won't have to wait too much longer. As expected, the reality show cast-off has officially signed a record deal with Interscope Records and will drop her first single, 'This Time,' on July 12.The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the deal, and Toscano's debut album is expected to drop later this year.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family. [Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman] Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on 'Idol' and I'm looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true," Toscano said in a statement.
The singer, who was ousted in ninth place from the 10th season of 'Idol', will work on the album with producer Rodney Jerkins, who says fans can expect a "big diva-sounding record."

GREAT NEWS! Pia was clearly the best on that show and was clearly robbed! (We stopped watching after she was booted.) BTW, where are those "#1 records" from Scotty and Lauren?

i didnt care for pia at all. i didnt think she sounded very good and think she is all about pia. very fake seeming.
Scotty has a single out right now called "I Love You This Big". Don't know if it will be a number 1 but who can be sure that Pia will have a number 1?
PIA, WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE BEST. SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE FINISHED 9TH, SHE WAS 5TH BEST AT BEST.
By the way can I mention! BITE ME! Lauren was cute as a button.
I thought she was very conceited. She sang well, but she sounds like every other girl singer out there. Also, she needs to get her fake boobs lowered. They're about to choke her.

I will be one of the first to buy it....the finalist this year just did nothing for me...I wouldn't buy his music but I will buy PIA"S!!good for her......

I agree with you Vickie. I couldn't stand watching AI after Pia got booted.I'm not the demographic that AI Is shooting for I'm over the age group of 18-49. But when I saw Pia in auditions I knew she had the voice to go far in this biz. I'm very excited about her sincle (and album) to follow.

Happy for her, and ys her voice is beautiful, however, her overrated sense of self is what got her booted. People as a whole cannot be moved by someone who is presents as better than most. If she would just warm up then people will flock to her music.
