Oprah Winfrey's Next Role: High School Teacher!

Oprah Winfrey is back in the USA after spending time with her "girls" at the school she opened in South Africa, but don't fear, ladies, Miss O will be returning soon in the role of teacher.
"They were all stressed for tests, but doing fine," Oprah emailed fans -- including yours truly -- about her students. "No major crisis this trip. I love being with them and talking to them about all things important. When I'm there I'm talking from the time I get up till I go to bed, about EVERYTHING teenage girls are going through. It's the same all over the world."
Oprah revealed that she would be returning this fall to teach a class called 'It's Life 101' about all the stuff she wished someone had told her about how the world really works.
"Should be fun since I love to teach. And they're like sponges," Oprah said. "Like 12th graders everywhere, this first class is both anxious and excited about going to college. Most will be the first in their family. So it's a very big deal for them, and they're feeling the pressure."
Adding that there is nothing like leaving the USA to get a deeper appreciation of the freedoms we sometimes take for granted.
"When Chris Rock was last on the show he said, 'real wealth is having options.' I thought that was pretty profound," Oprah says. "I now stress to my girls that education prepares you to have options. Without it you have none. Just took a walk around the neighborhood watching sprinklers on the back lawn ... (I love sprinklers) Made me think about the red dirt road I traveled from
Mississippi (no sprinklers) to the here and now ... And how that journey could have only been possible in the USA."

Why doesn't she teach in the tough inner city schools right here in America! Now there is a real mission.

Oprah, you have done well for yourself. People are jealous because they can't get to where you are in life. You have done very well and I am proud of you. Good Luck in the future.

I think Oprah is a good person. I met her in Balt. during her early years. She was very nice to her fans and that spoke volumes. She doesn't forget her roots, sorry for the reference, but she seems real. Is she full of herself, of course. That's what it takes these days to do anything. I think she's good role model. She's not popping out babies for a paycheck or lifestyle with a dozen different daddies. She does good with her cash. She is loyal to old friends gets back this loyalty in return. I am white and I think she is not a racist. I define a racist as some one that only validates their own race. Her viewers are mostly white women from 30-50 years old. They do not feel that racist vibe, obviously.

I don't understand it? She's living in sin and still she's revered. That's the problem with America - It's lost it's true and lasting God to talk show hosts. Too many people give them way more reverence than they do the creator of all.

Let those without sin cast the first stone. Don't be so self righteous and judgmental. I wonder if you are married and living a happy life. Go get a life. There are so many so-called christian people living in sin behind close doors. There are so many self-righteous individuals, pastors and leaders in this country who are living in sin behind close doors and the majority of them are white.
She needs to go back to Africa, Marry Kunta Kinte and live in the bush.

It's great to see she appreciates what we have in the US!
Now, if her friend Obama doesn't tear us apart so we no longer can say "the journey could only happen in the USA" we will be fine.

In all her years, Oprah has seen what the youth of OUR country need, yet she chooses to teach in Africa? Oprah, don't let the door hit you on the way out, our country will be quite happy without you.

Some of the vitriol spewed in response to this kind act reveals how desperately so many of these users lacked great teachers in their lives. Thank you, Oprah.
