Casey Anthony Book Deal: O.J.-Effect Could Sink Any Chance She Had

With news that Casey Anthony will soon be a free woman, any dreams of making millions of dollars off the tragic death of her young daughter, Caylee, through potential book deals looks very unlikely.

"Publishers have a long memory and after the public outcry that led to the canceled publication of the O.J. Simpson book ['If I Did It'], everyone will think twice before offering Casey a deal," one senior book editor tells me.

One of the nation's largest superstore chains, Borders Group Inc., previously said it would donate any profits from the OJ book to charity, and given the public reaction to the Anthony verdict, many believe a book by Casey would be met with similar reaction.

"Even if she decided to tell the whole truth in the book, which she could because she couldn't be tried again because of double jeopardy, who would want to give their hard earned money to her," an independent publisher tells me.

Judith Regan, the would-be publisher of Simpson's book, did not get back to me to comment, but she did say at the time that Simpson approached her with the idea for the book, which reportedly was sold for $3.5 million. Pre-order sales of the OJ book had been strong, but not sensational. 'If I Did It' cracked the top 20 at Amazon.com but at the time that its cancellation was announced, the book had fallen to No. 51.

"Anyone that touches this book is committing career suicide," a writer tells me about potential Casey tell-alls. "Not to mention, how do you go to sleep at night knowing you are making this young woman rich?"

I wouldn't buy it, but I bet some publisher will pay her to write a book. Way too many other examples of people going for money over decency... Charlie Sheen Tour, anyone?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! As soon as the verdict was handed down, I made a vow to never let an Anthony family member profit in any way from my personal pocket. That would be the greatest affront to the memory of little Caylee that I can think of right now. Anyway, who'd want to read a book laced with lies, or care about what she went through over the past three years. I MIGHT read a book about people adversely impacted by the trial and Casey's lies, but that's it.

No I wouldn't read, watch or listen to anything done by Casey Anthony. If she's smart (ha ha) she'll leave prison gates and get directly on a plane headed out of this country. The jury didn't think they had enough evidence to convict her; that doesn't make her innocent and most of us know it.

It really angers me that supporters of this verdict tell us not to ridicule the jurors yet the jurors are holding out for payment to talk. It's almost as if the more controversial the verdict, the higher payout they knew they could get. I think any person, corporation, industry, or news channel that gives anyone involved in this case a dime to talk is just as disgusting as Casey! There is no way I would ever support Casey by buying or listening to her lies. The justice system failed Caylee but society can help preserve her memory. DON'T SUPPORT CASEY OR THESE JURORS!

Any one who buys this book is simply a scichopath. Reading or even watching anything that deals with this trash of a human being is reserved to the welfare mothers, sitting on their couches and eating burritos while watching the Maury Povitch and Jerry Springer shows.

I will not spend a cent on a book or movie and I will not watch any interviews or buy any magazines ect that are paying her for stories about leaving her daughter in the swamp for 6 months!
Why when the police finally stated, a body was found 15 houses from hers, did she start hyper-ventilating in jail! That should of been presented to that jury..how would they have explained that away during there 11 hours that they didn't ask for one piece of evidence to review...not one juror had a back bone so the 6 that first voted guilt to the 2nd charge where convinced to vote not guilty..never would of happened if I was in that room. I would of hung that jury and been proud of it!
