Maria Shriver Buys $10 Million Mansion Near Schwarzenegger's Home

Maria Shriver may have wanted out of her marriage with soon-to-be ex-husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, but she isn't moving far from the couple's formerly shared home. According to TMZ, Shriver is buying a $10 million home in LA's Brentwood.

Shriver's new home will be in the same exclusive community where the former governor's mistress and lovechild have recently been spending time with her estranged husband. The close proximity of Shriver and Schwarzenegger will ensure an easy transition between homes for the couple's two minor children, Christopher and Patrick.

Shriver has reportedly been looking at real estate for the past six months and her current deal on the multi-million dollar pad is reportedly in escrow and should close soon. The $10 million investment is chump change compared to the sum Shriver should be receiving in her divorce settlement from Schwarzenegger.

'The Terminator' is reportedly worth $500-$750 million and has made it clear that he intends to be "very generous" when dividing the couple's wealth. With a new home and a cushy bank account we're sure that Shriver can begin building her new life.

Looking for six months? So apparently she knew about Arnold's adventures longer than we first thought? She waited until he was out of the Governors office before this scandal was unleashed. A sly calculating move. I am annoyed by the number of people who blame Maria for Arnold's actions. As if her Kennedy surname has anything to do with her situation. So a number of her uncles had affairs? How many of you can look at your extended families and claim perfect harmony? Not many. I am sure most of you people have a lot of cheating uncles, cousins, nephews, etc.

For once we are not hearing of a monetary battle. Do you believe she cleans her own mansion now? Ultimately it is giving the children who must transition what they already know and since they are living in wealth it is clear the parents are making as few changes as possible.

They are a nice couple he has done acting and a political place where he worked hard. I believe it is ridiculous to spend millions on media notoriety of those "who have" when they decide to divorce, re marry, and or have issues show up. They are an attractive couple. The child was not born yesterday. I am more amazed that marital counseling was not sought. They remind me of a more normal family not one prone to drugs, cheating in repetition and the like--however, it is up to the wife.

Ironically those huge mansions and wealth allow these infidelities to occur. Her hurt I would surmise would be in believing this was going on with the maid while he lay down with her all these years that it seems would be the catalyst for ending their union... Peace..

I recalled hear on the podium with Arnold stated if anyone knew him it would be her, she stood up and said the allegation about him were untrue.I beleive she knew of this child for many years, And when you are in a household with maids and a large staff,rumors are bound to be heard. It was over for him and she thought it was time for her to move on..How many women he has to grope ? with her being a newscaster before I am sure she knew exactly all she needed to know. Maria and cuz Caroline Kennedy have had a special relationship, way back. Will Caroline also be moving in??? Maybe just a weekend here and there. The house must have some nice bedrooms. Wow. Can it also withstand the inevitable "Big One"??? Super wow. Shakin'.

I think it's good Arnie the Austrian was not more like Ted the drunk. Ted supports universal health care for all Americans for all 68 years he's in the Senate, but no legislation. OH PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many men AND women cheat. It's a fact of life. But the fact that the affair produced a child tells you one thing....Arnold wasn't using a condom. Making babies with another person is not right...bringing home AIDS or STD's to an unsuspecting partner is tantamount to murder when it can be prevented. That would be the straw that severed the marriage for me.

FYI TopSgt-- the Kennedys have given more back than any other rich family in this country -- for example, Ted Kennedy was paying people out of his own pocket to get top people on his staff and figured they were worth more than what the government paid them. They have all been in public service in one way or another. You must be thinking of the Bush family.

I am glad that Maria is moving on, she is one strong woman!!I am sure she will get a good paying job as well back on TV!! I wish her the best of luck as no amount of money can fix all that she had to go thru with Arnold. What a fool he is???
