Report: Lady Gaga Is 'Sick and Obsessed with her Weight'

Forget the 'Edge of Glory,' according to a report from Star magazine (via Radar Online), Lady Gaga is on a dangerous edge when it comes to her health. From her eating habits to her extreme self-scrutinizing, apparently it is just a matter of time before Gaga's unhealthy lifestyle catches up with her.

"Those who have worked with her on tour reported to me that Gaga barely ate for weeks at a time to fit into her costume," investigative journalist, Ian Halperin told Star. "She is sick and obsessed with her weight. One friend told me, Gaga will stare at herself in the mirror for hours on end, analyzing and critiquing her body. It's an unhealthy obsession."

But fitting into her outrageous and often barely there get-ups isn't the only reason Gaga is so concerned with her body -- according to Halperin, she uses her outlandish wigs and perfectly toned body to distract from the side affects of her Lupus -- a disease she has publicly admitted to battling. The disease has reportedly caused the mother monster to lose hair and break out in red blotches all over her body.

But Halperin who has been investigating Gaga for the past 12 months explains that her disease and her weight problems are not her only demons.

"Her drug use started young," he explained. "From heroin to cocaine and ecstasy, her friends say that she has done every drug conceivable. You name it she has done it. She's morphed into this caricature called Lady Gaga, who isn't even a real person. The girl known as Stefi to her friends and family has all but disappeared."

Although we imagine that it's only human to be somewhat self-scrutinizing when you're performing in front of millions, we hope that Gaga can take her own 'Born This Way' advice.

You know, I think people either like her weird ways or find her annoying. I can't be bothered to even look cuz she's just not that interesting a person to take notice of.

Anyone who needs that amount of public attention all the time isn't really someone who cares about anything else but themselves and rarely have anything interesting to say.

A bit of cultural anthropology doesn't hurt in understanding the here and now. History suggests that most of our gendre specific attitudes are hard wired. There are twists and turns to the way this manifests itself. The biggest credit card, a rolex, and a very sexy car do not exactly translate to the most dangerous guy with the biggest club.. so women are constantly trying to interpolate between the two. Though women are generally inspired by the obvious manifestations of success... they also are attracted to the element of danger.. {looking for the dominant dog} Superego tries to control this.. but can never totally suppress it. Which is why we understand that "good girls" like bad boys.

Gaga is not manifesting some distorted or devient tendencies.. she is expressing the secret heart of most women, which I admire about her. The consequence is being subject to the features most men admire about women, which is really just a shallow interest in outward appearance, ie, the trophy wife. Her career and her voice are subject to her ability to display the features that most men are drawn to. Otherwise... would most of us really be interested? It's a bait and switch tactic.. draw you in with the superficial appearance, then try to influence you with some rational thoughts. Madonna did the same thing. Big Job.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE! You might as well make fun of cancer patients cuz thats almost what youre doing! Lupus is a deadly disease that works in a similar way to HIV in that it breaks down your immune system. My aunt and Gramdma have it and watching them get sicker and weaker is more sad than you could EVER imagine! So if these are true reports, I understand why she's so obsessed. This is her dream and the fear of looking unappealing to her fans may seem vain to you, but its her reality. Her life consists of making others feel beautiful the way they are adn to entertain and make people happy, but who are we to judge when she's trying so hard to make us happy and all we do is judge a beautiful soul like hers. I pray she'll be ok.
