Ryan Phillippe Welcomes Baby Girl With Alexis Knapp

Third time is surely a charm for Ryan Phillippe who welcomed his third child on July 1. The baby girl is the first for Phillippe and ex-girlfriend, Alexis Knapp, but the third for the actor who shares two children -- Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7 -- with ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon.

According to In Touch, although they are no longer a couple, Phillippe was in the delivery room with Knapp when she delivered their nearly eight pound baby girl, Kai, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

But due to the couple's post-breakup surprise pregnancy, Phillippe is not 100% certain he is the baby's biological father and until recently had not taken any DNA tests. Phillippe is currently waiting on the results of the paternity test but has already taken on a fatherly role to the newborn.

"Ryan took Alexis to her last doctor's appointments and was there in the hospital when she gave birth," a friend told In Touch. "He's waiting for the DNA test to see if he's the father, but he's acting like he is."

We applaud Phillippe for stepping up to the plate whether or not Kai is his biological daughter.

Had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Ryan and his family at a phillies game - we shared a box with them. They are wonderful people. The parents of Ryan are fantastic and cannot imagine Ryan not taking on the responsbility of his role. The hate messages on here truly are people that you would not want to be around anyway so what does it matter.

Ryan takes a great role in his involvement with his son and daughter by reese. his parents did also. he is a pretty good dad

"Third time is surely a charm...with ex-girl friend..." Hardly what I would call a "charm," having a baby with an ex! And what does that say for his other 2 adorable little children, that only this third one is the charm?
And why "applaud him for stepping up" whether or not it is his child? If it is his, that is his responsibility. If he isn't, this is an EX and he doesn't need to. It isn't like he is going to raise her as a step-father if he isn't the biological father. And, she doesn't know for sure he is? Or he doesn't trust that he is? Great relationship, no wonder they are exes.
I always feel sorry for all these Hollywood half-siblings. Can't divorced (or always single) parents stop having more babies?
