'Jerry Springer': We Never Made Monetary Offer to Casey Anthony

After reports began to swirl that 'The Jerry Springer Show' was offering Casey Anthony $1 million to make an appearance with her family, the show's execs are now saying that the supposed monetary offer is completely false.

"There is absolutely no truth to this story whatsoever," 'Jerry Springer' spokesman, Gary Rosen said in a statement. "'The Jerry Spring Show' has not made any monetary offer to Casey Anthony and her family to appear on the program, nor will we."

The rumored appearance would have marked the Tot Mom's first public words following her first degree murder charge acquittal. Original reports detailed that the show presented the offer to Anthony's legal team on Friday morning, an offer that would then be taken to Anthony and her family -- who supposedly had to appear on the show with her in order for the deal to go through.

"The offer was made to Casey's defense team Friday," a now incorrect source told Star magazine. "They are interested. The should would get huge ratings. The family will be presented with the offer shortly."

But even before the alleged appearance was squashed, we had a difficult time believing that the deal would go through if it meant Casey's father, George Anthony had to present. During her trial, Anthony's defense argued that the way she dealt with her daughter, Caylee's death was brought on by her own early childhood molestation, at the hands of her father. Anthony's legal team also made the case that she did not immediately report her daughter's death at the instruction of her father who 'intimidated' her. It is unclear, after Anthony's not guilty verdict shocked people across the nation, whether she will be living with her parents following her July 17 release from jail.

With a potential civil trial still on the table, many believe that making a talk show appearance almost immediately after her criminal trial would have only further cast Anthony as one of America's 'most hated women.' But, at the same time, a million dollar payday may have been exactly what Anthony needed to reclaim her life -- a life that will forever be emblazoned with the scarlet letter of her daughter's still ambiguous death.

But now that the offer has been deemed as a false report, just like Caylee's death, we'll never know what Anthony would have done.

Sue you are exactly correct. Boycott shows, books, etc that deal with this circus. Anyone that has had anything to do with a death of a child should not be allowed this type of celebrity status. Unfortunately this is what sells...junk! She may have been cleared of the murder charge but she and her family should be charged with something in relation to the death of this child. How can a child be missing this long and no one ask questions. They are all guilty.

I am with you! I refuse to buy a book or watch any media shows she is on. Why would anyone want to listen to someone who disposed of her childs body and partied the same day she died.

I totally agree. Springer show is nothing but sleaze and he makes a lot of money from it so he does not care how low he sinks. I thought he had gone as far as he could not this is a new low. That beautiful child is gone and no one is going to be punished for it. To add insult to injury this woman will make a lot of money off her dead daughter with no remorse. It is the people that are willing to pay her that are as disgusting as she is. For the person who said SHUT THE HELL UP. Not a chance. Expecting justice for an innocent child who was thrown away in a garbage bag by her mother we are not promoting hate ...we just want justice.

sue, i will be watching the show. she was found NOT INNOCENT. if you have a problem with that verdict then maybe you should have done some investigating and found some more evidence but with the evidence presented, and the accusation of murder, there was not evidence enough to convict so she was found not guilty. i will watch the show, i will read a book, and i will watch the movie. and i will be happy about doing it. if you think she did it you should have proved it. no one else did, not sure what evidence you saw, but the evidence i saw, and that all 17 jurors, every day and alternate, showed NOT GUILTY OF MURDER.

Millions of people will be outraged by this, but those same people will watch the show, rewarding Springer. The best response would be NOT to watch the show and boycott products of the sponsors of it for a month.
