Rapper Xzibit: 'Planking Is Racist, Not Funny'

After 'planking' seemed to have swept over Hollywood faster than you can say 'Kabbalah,' there's one lonely adversary who's standing up against those that are laying down. Rapper Xzibit took to Twitter to express his extreme disapproval of the trend.

"Planking is THE dumbest sh-t ever," Xzibit tweeted (via TMZ). "#Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, its not funny. Educate."

From Rosario Dawson and Ellen Page to Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, celebrities have been laying down straight and narrow left and right.

"Don't get it twisted," he continued. "I care less where your dumb asses lay face down and take pictures of the shit, I'm just telling you where it came from."

Although the position in which slaves were transported during the slave trade was not technically referred to as 'planking' the fashion in which they were positioned on wood plank beds was not unlike the stiff, face down, palm to side style.

The celebrity world is famous for their apt political correctness but we're not so sure they're going to give up their beloved light as a feather, stiff as a board ways.

Sagging of the pants actually came from hand-me-downs. The showing of your underwear is what came from prison, although I can see how one correlates with the other.

Believe it or not, not everything in America is done as a racist thought. If slaves were transported lying down, they didn't call it planking. Should we all not lay down now because slaves were transported laying down? Slavery was abolished in 1865. As late as 1830 there were almost 4,000 black slaveowners in the deep south so what do you have to say to them? My great-grandmother was full blooded Cherokee Indian. The Indians were treated worse than blacks and some of them were slaves also. I don't hold that against anyone. MOVE ON!

Check the cover of Time Magazien about 1985 a black man hanging from a tree lynched not prior to 1885 but in the mid 1980's. Then in Texas around the same time period mid 19080's white men tied a black man to the rear of their pick up truck and dragged him through the streets until he was dismembered. You get over your ingnorance, as long as we have people who are hateful and racist don't ask any group of people who have been puched down by the hand of white folks to get over it. One day white folks will have their turn to be enslaved and oppressed as they have done too so many others, as thier decendents so easily say "Get Over It"! the American Indian's , African American's and if you look you will see it does not stop there! All American's are suffering now because of the greedy white man causing the worst economical crunch since the great depression and they want to blame it on the African American President who inherited the problem! So Apple, when my cousin was confronted by three black men who demanded his wallet, it wasn't out of greed? Was it out of retaliation for slavery that they slit his throat open when he refused, or that they kicked him on the ground repeatedly after he fell over? Regardless of the fact that not one of them was ever a slave owned by him or a slave period. Nor were any of their parents or grandparents? Also regardless of the fact that he had relatives in the North that fought on the side of the North during the Civil War in an effort to abolish slavery and no one in his family ever owned any kind slaves. No, the reason they did it, aside from greed, was because he was white. They said so. So racism and hate run both ways. You and your race aren't the only ones to have been hurt by it. And according to your thinking, I'm supposed to be holding a grudge toward all blacks because my family has been wronged by them? Wow, talk about ignorant.
