Rapper Xzibit: 'Planking Is Racist, Not Funny'

After 'planking' seemed to have swept over Hollywood faster than you can say 'Kabbalah,' there's one lonely adversary who's standing up against those that are laying down. Rapper Xzibit took to Twitter to express his extreme disapproval of the trend.

"Planking is THE dumbest sh-t ever," Xzibit tweeted (via TMZ). "#Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, its not funny. Educate."

From Rosario Dawson and Ellen Page to Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, celebrities have been laying down straight and narrow left and right.

"Don't get it twisted," he continued. "I care less where your dumb asses lay face down and take pictures of the shit, I'm just telling you where it came from."

Although the position in which slaves were transported during the slave trade was not technically referred to as 'planking' the fashion in which they were positioned on wood plank beds was not unlike the stiff, face down, palm to side style.

The celebrity world is famous for their apt political correctness but we're not so sure they're going to give up their beloved light as a feather, stiff as a board ways.

that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard of. when will everyone stop playing the race card. it is over and has been for a very long time, long before you were born, get over it. anytime something doesn't go someone's way or they want publicity they scream racist. everyone is tired of hearing it.

it's because black people are still being treated as if whites are superior to us, how the hell would you know how black people in the real world are treated on a day to day basis when your skin isn't dark, and you dont walk in our shoes you have the nerve to tell us to get over it when your trailor trash people look down thier peckerwood noses at us. We may not be in chains but we still fight racism everyday and it's at the hand of white greedy people.

Seriously?? You think that some young person's silly prank that started a craze is racist? It means nothing. Maybe some people like to dwell on slave ship trivia but most of the rest of the world doesn't. If it had to do with slaves, no one would be doing it because it wouldn't be funny or ridiculous.

Planking. I followed the link to where they explain what the heck this is. Obviously this is my first time hearing about this. I've got to say this is the kind of inane, insipid bull crap that emanates from Hollywood that makes me want to wall the place off and make it an insane asylum. Please, people. Read a book. Play outside. Just turn off your tvs. Please. Please.

My kids have been doing this for about a year now and they call them TKO pictures. I know for sure that they did not think of black people on slave ships when they started doing this. This guy is ridiculous. They are doing something fun and he makes tries to make it racist, will it ever end?

I agree with you lance....planking IS one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. I saw somewhere where a guy was planking on the balcony rail of a hotel. Five stories up, I believe. Needless to say, he plunged to his death.
