Rapper Xzibit: 'Planking Is Racist, Not Funny'

After 'planking' seemed to have swept over Hollywood faster than you can say 'Kabbalah,' there's one lonely adversary who's standing up against those that are laying down. Rapper Xzibit took to Twitter to express his extreme disapproval of the trend.

"Planking is THE dumbest sh-t ever," Xzibit tweeted (via TMZ). "#Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, its not funny. Educate."

From Rosario Dawson and Ellen Page to Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, celebrities have been laying down straight and narrow left and right.

"Don't get it twisted," he continued. "I care less where your dumb asses lay face down and take pictures of the shit, I'm just telling you where it came from."

Although the position in which slaves were transported during the slave trade was not technically referred to as 'planking' the fashion in which they were positioned on wood plank beds was not unlike the stiff, face down, palm to side style.

The celebrity world is famous for their apt political correctness but we're not so sure they're going to give up their beloved light as a feather, stiff as a board ways.

Oh my God. He is so right. All these people are just taking pictures to mock how slaves were transported to the new world. It must be so hard for him to live amongst us mere mortals who are so racist. Get a life you dope. Go to the inner cities and try to put your little black brothers on the straight and narrow. Instead of making a racial diatribe about something that has nothing to do with slavery. Oops I printed the word diatribe which has the word tribe in it. ...and not just any black people. I've read that Obama's black, african ancestors were slave traders! That was widely publlicized prior to the 2008 elections, yet it didn't stop U.S. blacks from helping to vote him into the White House!

What a silly argument. Planking is not racist. Let me tell you what planking is: it's something people are doing because they are "board." (Plank = board/bored, get it?) Planking is a joke and nothing more, but some humorless people are trying to find hidden racist meaning to it and work up some outrage in the public.

"They" in theis particular intance would be anyone who continues to holler "racism" or "racist" just becasue they want to keep some kind of trouble stirred up. People need to realize that the slaves that everyone is referring to were caught, enslaved, and sold by their own people. At the time, it was who ever had the strongest tribe and conquered other tribes, and sold those conquered as slaves to the slave traders. That started hundreds of years ago and remained in practice long after the US abolished slavery. I am tired of people talking about what offends them on this subject...it's over with, a long time ago...we all need to move on past this particular subject. Racism will all ways be a part of any society, its just the way humanity is and has been for thousands of years. Only individuals can change or determine how they feel about other races...whether white, black, hispanic, asian, indian, or one of the many other races.

I liked your reply,it speaks the truth.my parents were poor in Canada,as was their parents.They are white but fast foreward to today where I live in a mixed race housing area,I hear things mainly from the black croud.Two black girls talking mabe 12yrs old saying they would never babysit a white baby.two black guys argueing,one guy calls the other guy white trash.do we have a white only beauty pagent,if we did we would be called racist but its ok for them to have a black beauty pagent.I did nothing to the black man,never owned or knew anyone that had slaves yet the black man is mad at me,and I,nor my parents or there parents did nothing to them....let it go!
