William and Kate Dazzle in L.A. (Photos)

After months of waiting, Prince William and Kate Middleton finally arrived stateside on Friday and certainly brought their photogenic charm with them.

The Royal Couple spent their first night in Los Angeles attending Variety's Venture Capital and New Media Summit at The Beverly Hilton hotel, according to E! Online.

Middleton, always one to dazzle in the latest fashions, fittingly chose to wear a 'Maja' green dress by American designer Diane Von Furstenberg for the occasion.

At the technology and media-focued event, William and Kate mingled with guests, including British Ambassador Sir Nigel Sheinwald, California Governor Jerry Brown and pal David Beckham (who's expecting a new baby any day now).

Up next for the couple on the their whirlwind California trip? William will play in a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo Club to benefit the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry before the couple heads to a black-tie affair held by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Saturday night.

It was lovely to see them all here. They are a gorgeous couple. I have to say I was a bit surprised at all the people being interviewed, as well as some interviewers themselves (and this article) calling Catherine "Kate Middleton". She is Catherine Mountbatten-Windsor now if you're going to use her last name, not Middleton. Their married now. Habit I guess?

The Mountbatten name was dropped after World War II because it is of German origin. She is known as Princess Catherine Windsor.

I agree I too am tired of the articles using her maiden name. So CR Stardust ;P at you...there is nothing wrong with wanting to see the right name used. Perhaps the author is not sure how to refer to the new princess.

Geez guys let me set the record straight-I have nothing personally against the royal couple-they seem like a fine couple. I am referring to the news coverage on this looooong honeymoon. The one the the taxpayers of England I'm sure are paying for. So Rob-SDNYC take a chill pill-taker a nap-step off-no I'm not an idiot-never wanted to be a princess-I have a job-are you guys on their PR team or something-is this the Queen of England responding to these posts??? the reason you used caps is because no one else is being real about kate. she is way too thin, and is on a strict diet, and wants to be thinner. that is anorexia...diana had eatting disorders too, and, sadly william, and harry would have a tendency to be attracted to women like their mother. i read that kate wants to lose more weight. she doesnt look good anymore..she looks unattractive now..this could be a tragedy. they are a great couple, and they are great people, but, she appears to have an eatting disorder, and i hope she faces it and gets help. i hope william faces it too, and, yes, he should wear a wedding ring, i agree. we are in a different age and time than way back when men didnt wear them...it is appropriate for a couple like them. they are a great couple.

I agree... I'm sad that she lost so much weight. She's a lovely young woman, but would be even lovelier if she puts back 10 or 15 pounds.
