William and Kate Dazzle in L.A. (Photos)

After months of waiting, Prince William and Kate Middleton finally arrived stateside on Friday and certainly brought their photogenic charm with them.

The Royal Couple spent their first night in Los Angeles attending Variety's Venture Capital and New Media Summit at The Beverly Hilton hotel, according to E! Online.

Middleton, always one to dazzle in the latest fashions, fittingly chose to wear a 'Maja' green dress by American designer Diane Von Furstenberg for the occasion.

At the technology and media-focued event, William and Kate mingled with guests, including British Ambassador Sir Nigel Sheinwald, California Governor Jerry Brown and pal David Beckham (who's expecting a new baby any day now).

Up next for the couple on the their whirlwind California trip? William will play in a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo Club to benefit the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry before the couple heads to a black-tie affair held by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Saturday night.

Guess Americans call her Kate M. because her British title means, not a whole lot here in the good ole U.S.A. Cute couple, but it is getting a bit boreing now.

I noticed the lack of a wedding ring on Prince William as well and wondered why.

The royal MEN do not wear wedding bands-its a personal choice. If you notice Prince Charles doesn't either-but he wears a creepy little pinky ring

Because none of the men in the royal family do; check out Duke of Edimburgh, Charles, etc. Who knows maybe it means their loyalties lay primarily with the country secondarily their children then their wives.

Sue she is wearing the ring that used to be Diana's instead of the plain old gold band. It was given to her as an engagement ring. Given a choice which would you wear?

Just want to add that I really adore William and Kate. They appear to be such a happy couple in love. Hope that it lasts their lifetime. She has the figure of a model and the face of an angel, ditto Prince William.

Royal do-nothings....with the world in a recession, and unemployment rising in this country daily, it is repulsive that the news media follow these two on their daily rounds of privledge...I would rather watch a faucet drip.
