No, your eyes don't deceive you. The New York Post is reporting that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have eloped at Carey's recently purchased house in the Bahamas. The alleged marriage comes just one day after reports surfaced that the multi-platinum artist and MTV's 'Wild 'N Out' host were engaged.
The paper cites a couple of sources, with one claiming that the two have been quite smitten with each other for "days, weeks," and another concerned about the lack of a pre-nuptial agreement.
Should these yet-to-be confirmed nuptials be true, this will be the second marriage for the 38-year old singer and the first for Cannon, who was previously engaged to Selita Ebanks, a Victoria's Secret model. That engagement ended in October 2007. Read the full story.
Say it ain't so. According to JudiciaryReport.com, Madonna is a copycat. The site claims the recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee has been emulating international pop star Kylie Minogue for quite some time and they attempt to prove their theory with examples of "similar" album covers, posters and music videos.
This rather harsh accusation is not the first of its kind in the music industry. Pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne was accused of "borrowing" music from songwriters, and Christina Aguilera spent the early part of her career being described as a Britney Spears clone.
They say imitation is the best form of flattery, so is it safe to say Madonna's alleged history of emulating Minogue is simply Madge's way of showing her fondness for the Aussie? Is it just a coincidence or is Madge actually ripping off her Australian counterpart?
Should we expect a reality show from Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the woman identified as a prostitute alleged procured by Eliot Spitzer? Remember when Myspace diva Tila Tequila went from online sensation to musician to starring in her very own reality television show to find "true love." Ms. "Dupre" -- born Ashley Youmans -- is already an aspiring singer with her own Myspace page and is now infamously in the public eye after being referred to as one of the ladies the disgraced ex-governor if New York purportedly had an encounter with.
The next "logical" step, at least in our opinion, for the 22-year-old singer -- "described in a federal affidavit as having had a rendezvous with Mr. Spitzer on Feb. 13 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington" -- who left New Jersey for New York City at age 17 to pursue her career as a R&B/soul singer at clubs and bars? She lists her influences on Myspace as Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, Christina Aguilera and Lauryn Hil.
With singing being her first love, she might consider a reality show more focused on music and entertainment, but maybe Spitzer's "lady friend" is just like Tila ... lookin' for love through the power of the airwaves.
Most legal experts would advise the accused to stay away from the scene of the crime, but in Kid Rock's case it's a much better idea to hold a fund-raiser right near the Waffle House where he was arrested. Fans attended a charity event held just minutes away from the Duluth, Ga., breakfast joint to raise money for the Nicholas House Foundation -- a housing shelter for homeless families in the Metro Atlanta area.
Kid Rock pleaded not guilty to battery after allegedly attacking another patron while dining at the restaurant chain. At the event, the hip-hopper turned Southern rocker auctioned off backstage passes, among other items, which he hopes will raise between $15,000 and $20,000 for the charity. Said Kid Rock, "The first situation was silly. Atlanta has always been a great market for us, and we have made a lot of money here.' adding that he likes "to take opportunities that might not be so positive and turn it around." So raise your glass -- here's to naughty boys doing good deeds.
It was sort of quaint when Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger explained how his Canadian alternative rock band got its name (the story involves his brother giving five cents change at Starbucks). But in a recent interview with Playboy, he went a little far in disclosing intimate details of his own life -- namely, some seriously questionable pursuits during his youth.
The 33-year-old rocker must have been in the mood to share, as he not only spoke candidly about his early days pushing drugs -- as he put it, "I had to subsidize the income somehow" -- but also told a tale involving, well, pleasuring himself publicly for a case of beer. We won't go into the lurid details here, but he did offer what might be called an explanation: "I was 14 and much more flexible at the time ... I really wanted that case of beer."
Justin Timberlake is known for his stellar dance moves, but the singer is about to showcase something quite different in his role in Mike Myers' upcoming feature film, 'The Love Guru.' In the flick, JT sports an extremely tight Speedo along with a fabulously fake accent.
The film, which also stars Jessica Alba, focuses on an American residing in an Indian ashram (Myers) who is commissioned to help a hockey player rekindle his marriage. Be sure to check out JT's cute butt when 'The Love Guru' hits theaters in June. Watch the trailer here.
Some people crave cookies, ice cream or even french fries. With Miley Cyrus you can forget about the fries -- she just wants the ketchup. Miley demonstrated her love for drinking the sweet 'n' tangy condiment straight outta the bottle when she appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.' (Keep your eyes peeled around the 3:00 mark)
It looks like Miley Cyrus has found herself in yet another internet picture scandal. Late last year, racy photos of the Disney darling appeared online, causing quite a stir. Now, more pics have leaked to the blogs -- this time featuring the 15-year-old star posing in some skimpy undies.
In one shot, she's seen lifting up her shirt and showing her stomach, while in others, she's shown wearing a bikini with her friends.
Did the legendary queen of pop catch the plastic surgery bug? Madonna, who attributes her fantastic physical condition to her devotion to Yoga, macrobiotic diet and Kabbalah water, was spotted leaving a London hotel in shades in the early Monday morning hours. What the glasses didn't hide was what appeared to be bruising under her left eye.
While the 49-year-old singer has copped to enjoying the benefits of oxygen skin therapy, the shiner (and two others she sported back in December) has the tabloids buzzing that she's opted for a little more help.
Madonna will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March, and her new album will be out early this year.
US magazine reports that the Associated Press -- the world's largest news organization -- began writing Britney Spears' obituary about a month ago. Jesse Washington, the entertainment news editor, spoke with the tabloid saying, "We are not wishing it, but if Britney passed away, it's easily one of the biggest stories in a long time."
This news comes just after In Touch reported an apparent suicide note allegedly found by Spears' close friend Sam Lufti. Spears was recently hospitalized after a custody stand-off with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Performing both as yourself and your ultra-popular alter-ego makes for a whole lot of wardrobe changes. And for Miley Cyrus, maybe even a body double.
One disgruntled fan alleges to OK! magazine that TV's "Hannah Montana" employs a lookalike during one song while she's backstage changing costumes on her wickedly quick-selling concert tour. "[A] new 'Hannah' came out of a different door," the fan told the mag. "I paid good money to see the concert. I was disappointed and I felt like I was played for a fool." Read the full story.
Paris Hilton's theoretical bank account took a huge hit yesterday when her grandfather, billionaire Barron Hilton, decided to donate 97 percent of his fortune to a charity set up by his father, Conrad. The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation was created in 1944 to support various goodwill causes including improving the quality of water in Africa, educating blind children, and housing for the mentally ill.
Prior to his decision, Paris was expected to inherit roughly $100 million dollars -- her share of the $2.3 billion dollars that Barron was to leave to his eight children and grandchildren. However, under the new redistribution of wealth, she will receive about five million dollars.
My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way is calling Britney Spears a new name: heroine. According to Contactmusic, the 30-year-old singer, who has experience battling addiction, sees the troubled pop star as a source of inspiration, and says he can relate to her erratic behavior.
"I think that her shaving her head was awesome, that was one of my highlights of the year!" Way exclaims. "I thought she looked great, and I totally got it. I have had a lot of moments where I can identify with her. Sometimes you just wanna shave your head and be covered in your own s**t, running through the streets, being crazy. You wanna be f**king locked up!"
Britney Spears' 16-year-old sister and longtime boyfriend Casey Aldridge are, in fact, expecting. While it was rumored in July that they were looking for an apartment together in California, no one saw this coming, including Jamie Lynn herself, who told OK! Magazine that the pregnancy was "a shock ... so unexpected."
According to the story, the 'Zoey 101' star, who is 12 weeks along, plans to raise the child in Louisiana so the baby can have a "normal family life." Spears broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving. The surprised (already) grandmother of two "didn't believe it because [her daughter has] always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."
Nickelodeon has not yet released a comment about the news of its young TV star, but Jamie Lynn is expecting representatives at the network to be supportive. "I haven't spoken to [Nickelodeon] personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities."
'American Idol' winner Jordin Sparks in not just singing about a 'Tattoo,' she's also getting one. Her 18th birthday is less than a month away and as soon as Sparks becomes legal, she will get her younger brother's name tattooed somewhere on her body. She said that she wants P.J. written in a nice script, adding that it'll be small. "It's not like his name is Bartholomew or anything."
Sparks also said that since she won 'American Idol,' recorded an album and toured, she doesn't get to see her brother as often as she would like. "I've only been home a week-and-a-half since the year started, and I really miss him."
And while she doesn't need her permission, Sparks' mother OK'd the tat, saying, "I'll go get one with you when you're 18."
