Fall Out Boy Documentary in the Works

Legendary documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles is working on a film about Fall Out Boy. Maysles' credits include the Rolling Stones' tour doc 'Gimme Shelter' and 'Grey Gardens.'

"Albert came along and was like, 'I'm really interested in doing something with your band,' and we did the thing like when you're in high school and the hot girl talks to you, and you sort of look behind you and go, 'Who, us?' " bassist Pete Wentz told MTV. "This guy could document pretty much anything, and he wanted to do something with us. That's what blew our minds more than anything."

Maysles filmed five dates of FOB's Young Wild Things tour and plans on documenting the next year of the band's career, including the recording process of their fourth full-length album. Wentz is unsure of the film's outcome, but is enthused about the process.

"I'm really excited about it, whatever happens, because I think most bands just film a bunch of crap for 'the official DVD,' and those are always kind of cheesy," Wentz laughed. "We'd like to have it submitted to some festivals, maybe release it as a proper, real DVD in the fall," he said. "All I know is, I can look forward to having Albert and his crew sleeping on my couch."

Jessica Simpson to Bare It All for Art

After a whirlwind of bad press, paltry record sales and public scrutiny of her single life, Jessica Simpson is re-focusing her efforts on her film career. Her plan of attack? Full-frontal nudity.

"Jessica is in the running for a role that, if she gets it, will put her right on the map in terms of acting," a source reveals on DListed. "The only hitch is that the script requires a number of quite graphic scenes including a full-frontal nude scene. Jessica is so desperate to land the role and get the industry's respect that she's ready to go against her better judgment, and her family, by agreeing to bare all."

However, Simpson's father-slash-manager claims that his daughter has turned down previous scripts that called for nudity. "The last script that came to us was for Jessica to be a porn star," he said. "We were promised we would win an Oscar with that. I told them, 'I think we'll just buy a statue of a little man and keep our clothes on.'"

Simpson has starred in several box office misses, including 'The Dukes of Hazzard,' 'Employee of the Month' and 'Blonde Ambition.' Her next film, 'Major Movie Star,' is in post-production and slated for a 2008 release.

Beyonce, Fergie and Mary J. Celebrate Movies With Music

Several of music's biggest names came together in L.A. this past weekend to celebrate their favorite musical moments in cinema. 'Movies Rock,' which was taped for broadcast to air on CBS Friday, December 7, kicked off with Beyonce earning a standing ovation for her rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.'

Beyonce, along with Carrie Underwood, who performed the title song from 'The Sound of Music,' was one of the pre-show favorites. Nikki Sixx and Alicia Silverstone, who also tabbed Jennifer Hudson, pegged them as the two artists they were most excited to see.

The two-hour broadcast, which included presenters Harrison Ford, J.Lo, Kate Hudson, Danny DeVito and Quentin Tarantino, among others, offered plenty of highlights. Among them: Fergie rocking 'Live and Let Die' from the Bond film of the same name, Mary J. Alanis Morissette Returns to Film for 'Radio'

Alanis Morissette has signed on to act in the film adaptation of Philip K. Dick's 1976 novel, 'Radio Free Albemuth,' which started filming in L.A. earlier this month. In the movie, the singer-songwriter plays a secretary named Sylvia, who appears in a vision of a record executive (played by Jonathan Scarfe), as a successful and glamorous singer.

"I am a big fan of Philip K. Dick's poetic and expansively imaginative books," Morissette said. "I feel blessed to portray Sylvia, and to be part of this story being told in film."

The screen is nothing new to Morissette, who played God in the controversial 1999 movie, 'Dogma.' She's also made guest appearances on various television shows , including 'Nip Tuck' and 'Sex In the City,' and lest we forget Morissette's start: the kids' television program, 'You Can't Do That on Television.'

Meanwhile, Morissette is currently hard at work on her new album, titled 'Flavors of Entanglement.' The follow-up to 2004's 'So-Called Chaos' is due for release next year.

Pink's Fright Film to Debut on Halloween

Pop stars popping up in horror films is nothing new. You'll remember Paris Hilton's awesome death scene in 'House of Wax,' Busta Rhymes playing the good guy in 'Halloween: Resurrection' and who could forget Kelly Rowland dissing Freddy Krueger in 'Freddy vs. Jason?'

Let's not stop there: LL Cool J starred in 'Halloween H20,' Usher in 'The Faculty,' Bon Jovi in 'Vampires II,' and Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons in 'Trick or Treat.'

To that end, Pink, who first hit the big screen with a tiny part in 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle,' will make her major film role debut in 'Catacombs,' which will be released, appropriately, on Halloween night. The singer plays a young woman visiting Paris who gets invited to an underground rave that quickly goes from 'Feel Good Time' to 'Trouble.' Producers of the film explain that the story "[deals] with universal fears: being trapped, being lost, claustrophobia, etc." Yikes.

You can watch the film starting tomorrow at FEARnet.com.

Disney Denies Firing Vanessa Hudgens

Disney representatives deny that the company fired Vanessa Hudgens from the third installment of the wildly successful 'High School Musical' series, despite earlier reports from OK! magazine, saying that the rumors are "totally untrue." Negotiations between Disney and the entire cast of 'High School Musical 3' are still underway.

The status of Hudgens' involvement in the project was questionable after nude photos of the young star surfaced on the Internet. Hudgens publicly apologized for the incident, explaining that the photo was taken privately.

It was also rumored that Adrienne Baillon of the 'Cheetah Girls' and Sabrina Bryan from 'Dancing with the Stars' were in the running to replace the 18-year old Hudgens.

Vanessa Hudgens Not Asked Back for 'High School Musical 3'

Disney has decided to not ask Vanessa Hudgens to be in 'High School Musical 3.' The status of her involvement in the project was questionable after nude photos of the young star surfaced on the Internet. Hudgens publicly apologized for the incident, explaining that the photo was taken privately.

"They feel that as long as Zac Efron is in the movie, all will be fine," a Disney insider told OK! "He's the real star -- the household name -- and, most importantly, he comes without baggage."

The same source also revealed that Adrienne Baillon of the 'Cheetah Girls' and Sabrina Bryan from 'Dancing with the Stars' are both in the running to replace the 18-year old Hudgens. Meanwhile, Hudgens still has a pending offer to be the new face of Sketchers, replacing pop and reality TV star, Ashlee Simpson.

Ashanti Gets Her Gun, Turns 'Evil'

Ashanti will be kicking, well, you know, and taking names in the upcoming 'Resident Evil: Extinction,' another in the movie series based on the wildly popular video game, co-starring Milla Jovovich and Mike Epps. "I play Nurse Betty [and] I shoot a nine-millimeter gun," the R&B star tells PopEater. She'll return to Las Vegas for the film's premiere on September 20, before it hits theaters nationwide the next day.

The singer's newfound role as an action hero also had some influence in a more familiar arena: music. "All the parts that you hear me sceaming," Ashanti says of her forthcoming album, 'The Declaration,' which features collaborations with Pharrell, Robin Thicke, Brian Cox and Jermaine Dupri, "and I'm angry and I'm loud -- I'm visualizing the gun."

Having recently completed work on next year's drama 'Winged Creatures,' Variety reports that she's now in final negotiations to act in the highly-anticipated film version of the HBO hit series 'Sex and the City.'

Chicago native Hudson (or J-Hud, as we like to call her) will get a New York edge for the role. In the film, she will play the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's character, sex columnist and quintessential Manhattanite Carrie Bradshaw.
