Beyoncé's Stylevolution

She was just 17 when she released her first album with Destiny’s Child and landed their first hit single “No, No, No.” Understandably, her style then was that of a midriff-baring teen.

Not much had changed when the final Destiny’s Child lineup—Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams—attended the 2001 Grammys wearing matching cutout outfits.

In 2004 she was still only in her early 20s, but she was showing signs of the mature style maven she was about to become. She had released a successful solo debut, and she arrived at the 2004 Grammys in a floor-length gold gown to collect a record-tying five statuettes.

She was dripping with elegance at the 77th Academy Awards with her equally spiffy boyfriend Jay-Z serving as the perfect accessory.

It was the year her longtime love Jay-Z made an honest woman out of her when they tied the knot in a secret ceremony in New York. She appeared in Essence later that year to talk briefly about their relationship saying, “We always knew it would happen.”

We already knew she transformed every time she hit the stage, but Beyonce introduced the world to her stage alter-ego Sasha Fierce with her new album I Am... Sasha Fierce. While Beyonce is the sweet, shy girl from Texas, Sasha is the strutting, gyrating stage phenomenon that sells out tour dates

She made history as the first female solo artist to score six Grammys in one night, and showed us what a chameleon she can be morphing seamlessly from the red carpet to the stage to the audience.
