(Dec. 25) - In 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' Brad Pitt retrogrades through life. Born as an man in his eighties, Pitt's character ages gracefully, looking younger with every passing year. What could be more confusing than being a 45-year-old actor, who has to portray a 17-year-old character who looks 65?

While we're intrigued by his ability to play such a wide age range, we had to wonder what other Hollywood stars had been cast outside their age range and managed to pull it off? Check out our list and let us know if age truly is just a number.

At age 45, Brad Pitt retrogrades through life in the movie 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'. Born as a man who is over 80 years old, Pitt's character ages gracefully, looking younger with every passing year.

Similarly, 'High School Musical 3' star Monique Coleman was 27 years old when she took on her role as high school senior, Taylor McKessie.

In an interview with Black Voices, Coleman believes being more than seven years older than her co-stars makes her a positive influence.

"I'm the one who definitely steps away and goes, 'hold on guys, can we please just take a moment and recognize where we are? We're standing in the middle of New York City and people are listening to the songs from our movie. Can you hold off and wait to get your Diet Coke and just take a moment," she recalls.

The starlet makes sure her younger co-stars, who include Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu and Ashley Tisdale, stay grounded and not let fame go to their heads. "I bring back sentimental moments and the fact that it is not always gonna be this way and that we're lucky," she explained.

Brad Pitt really didn't do any "acting". It was the makeup that showed the age changes. But what a terrible movie. It is boring and pointless. It's one of the worst movies that I have ever seen.

Brad Pitt is still as good looking as he was in "Troy" when he has his hair longer...he does not have the face for short hair and a mustache like he has been wearing for his latest movie role. When Angelina was still pregnant there was a picture taken of him in a kind of a tan jacket and he looked fabulous then. I saw him on Oprah recently with the in-character shorter hair and it did not flatter him. I hope he goes back to the longer hair look.

Brad is simply going the way of Val Kilmer. Val Kilmer starred as Phillip II in Alexander, but I must admit, even after I copied the movie and watch it over and over at least twelve times, I could only barely see Val Kilmer as Phillip. The make-up people were wonderful; because Val never looked like the Val of "Top Gun" or "Willow". Now Brad is getting older too. Gone are the days of Achilles in "Troy". Time marches on, and as Dolly Parton said in "Steel Magnolia", "you realize it's marching across you face." It's called growing older gracefully.
