Move over Daniel Radcliffe. According to Perez Hilton, the 'High School Musical' actor, Zac Efron, has been approached to take on Radcliffe's role in Broadway's 'Equus'. Is the world ready for a bare-bodied Efron?

Daniel.... hot...sexy....likely gay. Surely get my juices flowing! Zac... pretty BOI.... way deep in the closet... way too feminine.

"current young adult population[is]the most stupid in modern history...[has] no attention span...r-tards text messaging until the nude scenes and then...would..start talking aloud at the same time."Oogiebob,I have to say that I am not too informed about the play(I have never seen it),so I will not make any assumptions about its level of psychological complexity.Accordingly,I will neither bash it nor praise it.However,I will mention that I find it extremely disappointing that someone would go as far as referring to me as the "most stupid" in modern history and as having "no attention span".I know that I am far from "genius," but I also know that, along with others,I am knowledgeable in many aspects and intellectually capable of enjoying and appreciating art, whether it may be visual or musical.I am not naive,so I understand that prejudice, racism, and issues alike exist, but that still doesn't make them right.PLEASE take part in ending these vicious cycles.Don't keep a blind eye.

if zac efron was in equs the premeire show and many shows after most likely would be filled with talkative teenage girls. and at zac efron being "bare-bodied" the rest of the audience would hear giggles and squeals. mabye he should wait a bit for his audience to be less giggly girlish. Especially with high school musical being so popular, that instead of airing the third part of the movie series for free on TV, disney decided that they should put it in the movie theaters. that movie is definitely going to be number one in the box office.

if he ever took the role...it'd be a disaster...i saw it twice with dan and there is no way he can do it, i'm a fan of efron's but i'm more a fan of the theatre and i'm sorry but i wouldn't be able to stand teeny-boppers giggling through this show

Sheldonwin: Watch the 1977 film version starring 'Peter' Firth and Richard Burton. That ought to blow your skirt up. Daniel Radcliffe can't hold a candle to Firth. I doubt Efron would either.

Androndus, I couldn't have said it any better. "Equuis" is far too psychologically complex for Efron's typical fan base to appreciate. Not only is this current young adult population (Gen Y) the most stupid in modern history, they have no attention span. It would be an audience full of r-tards text messaging until the nude scenes and then they would all start talking aloud at the same time. Plus Efron would never be taken seriously enough by those who know the play to even buy a ticket.

I see a couple of problems with Efron taking on the role. First: he can't act. Let's be honest. He's pretty, he works great in mainstream Disney heart-throb roles. Equus is a very difficult play to do well, and people going to see it aren't going to be impressed with his winning smile and long lashes. Which brings us to a second problem: his audience. He can attract hoards of teeny-boppers, but Equus is MUCH to dark to be appropriate for his usual audience, not sure they would even understand it. He will NOT attract the type of people who would want to see Equus, b/c they would not want to see HIM in Equus.
