There's an old movie called, "The Rose Tattoo." It starred Burt Lancaster and Anna Magnani. Terrific movie and Anna Magnanis' character was named Seraphina. I wonder if the Afflecks' ever saw that movie and that's what inspired them to name their new baby Seraphina Rose as her first 2 names.

one of my favorite movies is serafina... about the murders of schoolchildren in south africa while nelson mandela was imprisoned. i always use the name when some drunk idiot who i have no interest in talking to tries to pick up on me at a bar. after i tell him my name is serafina i then tell him it is from south africa and he wanders away in about 30 seconds!
