(Nov. 7) - Kate Beckinsale loves a good cupcake and refuses to give up the dessert just to stay thin. "I'm not aiming to be Gisele," she reveals in the December issue of British Elle.
"I'm entirely normal. I have my good days and my bad days... but if someone turns up with cupcakes, I'll have one... I'd hate to be one of those people who won't allow themselves a slice of birthday cake," she says.

She admits that she's in better shape now than she was in her 20s. Beckinsale says that she "didn't have a clue" about healthy eating. "I'd eat a small breakfast and lunch and then have a baked potato for dinner and feel really horrible."
Now the actress sticks to a healthier foods and incorporates more exercising into her life. "My typical daily diet is eggs or oatmeal for breakfast, a chicken or vegetable wrap for lunch, then fish and vegetables for dinner."
On the media's fascination with her weight: "[I'm] amazed that people obsess over my body image so much. Why do we encourage this war on women's bodies? It's a horrendous way to live, and I refuse to."
On her exercise regime "I just can't make it part of my daily life," Beckinsale said. "I go to the gym when I have to, and if I have to bulk up or slim down for a film, I will. I've recently got back into exercising four times a week. I run for half an hour at a time but never outdoors, as I don't exercise in public. My gym's in my garage at home."
On Victoria Beckham's new fashion line "I'm really proud of her. I'd definitely wear one of them, provided I could fit my bum into it."
On her friendship with Victoria Beckham: "Victoria is lovely and very down-to-earth. She loves taking the piss out of herself, which is a good thing, as far as I'm concerned... we laugh a lot together."

Kate Beckinsale always looks great to me. She is in superb shape and takes the proper care of herself. We must remember that how anyone looks is relative to that particular body type and cannot be generalized too much. Just recently I read something to the effect that Kate B. is too thin. Bipolar media. Bipolar readers here, besides. Stupid, nasty remarks. And we thought the election was over now. Elections are temporal, but envy is eternal.

"Actress Defends Her Skeletal Body"....This was AOL's link to this article. However, after looking at the photos, this woman is not "Skeletal"....this must have been written by some pathetic, obese creature hiding behind her computer. Not everybody likes bulges, rolls and other extraneous protusions on their women. I realize that it is now popular to talk about how plump/fat is O.K and slim/thin is not. But when you look in the mirror, you still see a slob looking back at you, and no amount of pro-fat propaganda, or Hagen-Dasz Ice Cream will change that reality. If you are unhappy with this post, then you know it's you that I'm talking about.

What none of these articles talk about is that like many other stupid Hollywood types, Kate is a smoker. Yep, smoke 'em up, girls. You look SO attractive and so skinny. Almost as skinny as a dead girl. Which you'll be much sooner than if you don't smoke. Yecch.

This article isn't bashing her. It's giving her kudos for eating healthy, working out, and treating herself now and then. This is why her weight is healthy and she looks good. Most people do not take care of themselves this way, and that's why they are either emaciated or fat.

Faith Hill is ugly skinny - gain some weight gal. Faith is a beautiful woman but has lost too much weight to be sexy. As women age, a lot of them think they will look younger if they are thinner; just the opposite is true. A healthy weight is always the sexiest and most beautiful any woman can be.

After many years of suffering from morbid obesity and trying every diet known to man, I elected to have the weight loss surgery. No, i is not the easy way out. It is a difficult surgery to live with. Now I am at the opposite end of the problem I strive to keep some weight on. I must maintain a huge vitamin regime daily as well. Everyone in my family suffers from obesity, My grandmother passed at 62 and my mother at 64 from congestive heart failure and diabetes. My younger sisters both in their mid 40's have heart problems also. I am 50 years old 5'2" and weight 118 pounds. I have no medical problems. Had I not elected to have the surgery I trust i would have been ill now also.

Beckinsale sold herself to Hollywood for money, not morality, so she has to play by the employers rules just like anyone else. I think it is pathetic that these overpaid bimbos think they can sell their brains when all they got hired for is their bodies. It is one thing to pretend that being famous gives you a right to claim to have an intellect, and quite another to actually earn the right to have a respected opinion.

wow it really surprises me that the press is making such a big deal about her not caring if she is 'thin'. i kthrough those picts and she may not be underwieght (most people's definition of 'thin' nowadays) but shes not FAT. she may not even be classified as AVERAGE. she's thin! whats the fuss??? and to those who are like "some are naturally thin! oh well! fatties suck!" remeber: some people's metabolism is naturally higher, some lower. so two people may eat the same amount of food and be completely different weights even if they are the same height! if you dont want anyone to say stuff about your skinnyness you do the favor to others!
