Bishops at the Multiplex
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops reviews films to provide "the Catholic public with information about the role of the entertainment and news media in influencing societal and personal values." Here's What the USCCB says about 'Fireproof.: "A modest but heartwarming drama ... The message -- that a successful marriage is grounded in the knowledge that God loves us with all our faults -- is the overriding virtue of (this) nicely shot, evangelical-flavored film. Rated: A-II -- adults and adolescents. See More Reviews of Current Films >>>
'Religulous'Bill Maher attacks spiritual beliefs and religion by traveling the globe interviewing officials and adherents of various faiths ... His sneering dismissal of all religious beliefs as mere superstition makes director Larry Charles' documentary blatantly irreverent and journalistically spurious. Rating: O -- morally offensive.
'Beverly Hills Chihuahua:Director Raja Gosnell's sprightly live-action canine quest offers lessons about ethnic prejudice and class distinctions while also portraying the personality-warping effects of materialism. Mild menace. Rating: A-I -- general patronage.
'Choke' Generally repellant comedy with serious pretensions adapted from Chuck Palahniuk's novel about an inveterate sex addict (Sam Rockwell). Strong sexual content with multiple encounters, most with upper female nudity, sacrilegious elements, some rough language and profanity, and scatological and drug references. Rating: O -- morally offensive.
'Rachel Getting Married' Tumultuous drama ... ultimately presents a strong affirmation of marriage and family despite some bitter conflicts and long-festering resentments that rise to the surface, and there are excellent performances from the ensemble cast. Rating: L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling
'An American Carol' Anyone of a liberal bent should have little cause to worry about the heavy-handed, patently conservative satire "An American Carol" (Vivendi/Mpower) since this slapdash reworking of Charles Dickens is too busy hectoring to score many comic points. Rating: A-III -- Adults

PchLavendar I love the bit where it says Kirk was jogging and praying. LOL What an idiot. And Kirk, you should have stopped making babies about 5 of them ago. As populated as this world is and you religious nuts are spewing out kids like a Pez dispenser. And don't even get me started on those morons the Duggars with 17 and another on the way. Mrs. D evidently just lives her life lying on her back all day while the older kids have to take care of the babies. I guess these bozos have never heard of the word "adoption".>>>ARE YOU PRO-CHOICE?? The Duggars and The Camerons chose to have whatever children God sends them. Not everyone uses birth control or abortion. Some folks consider it playing God. If you want to have the sex with the person you love, then you will face the consequences of that and consider it a wonderful thing. This is how the ones you mention look at it. Why are you so intolerant and judgmental of their choice?

CharlyHaus 12:27 AMOct 15 2008 Here's my 2 cents.... at age 6 I knew there was something different about me but I just couldn't figure out what it was. By age 8, I was Saved and Baptised. I dated guys in high school and remained a virgin (we all know the struggles there). However my attention kept shifting to girls. The puzzle at age 6 had been solved. I prayed about it repeatedly, talked to various people, then realized that this was a part of me that couldn't be changed. Try as I might even now, I still fall short. I didn't choose this. Why would I want to? God doesn't make mistakes when He creates a human being. We all have a purpose. Sometimes we never know exactly what it is or why.________________________________Is this a pro Gay or Bi post. The middle kind of confused me?
