O'Neal Pleads Guilty To Drug Possession

(Jan. 9) - Ryan O'Neal pleaded guilty to a felony charge of drug possession on Friday afternoon and agreed to enter an 18-month drug deferment program. "Ryan was anxious to move on with his life with privacy and dignity and that's what we're trying to do here today," his lawyer Mark Werksman told PEOPLE.

According to reports, if O'Neal completes drug counseling and other requirements, the case against him will be dismissed.

O'Neal and his son, Redmond, 23, were arrested Sept. 17 after deputies searched their Malibu home and found methamphetamines in O'Neal's living area. The sweep was part of Redmond's probation.

Redmond, who has long battled drug addiction, had been on probation following a DUI and drug possession conviction in June 2008.

Redmond's pending drug case has been postponed to a later date.

Someone needs to check the judges off shore bank account. ANyone else would have done prison time but this jek gets drug counciling? what a ******* joke. If you got money, you write your own sentenance along with a nice bribe to the law!!

best you can do for news is is find the worse picture of o'neal, mug shot. personal stuff and it is not new. why don't you do back and dig into someone trash to find some news. this is not news, it is slim.

My dad taught me manners, respect for myself,and others. Disipline, patience, and all the right things a parent should teach their children. But not one time did he take crystal meth with me. What kind of dad would do this with his own children? A real loser would do this. Ryan should be under the jail, and never see light of day again. Its his kids I feel bad for. They never stood a chance of being normal with this kind of father. I have no respect for anyone who allows their kids to do drugs, it dont matter how old they are.

If he had been a regular person instead of a 'star' he would have been put UNDER the jail! This type of sentence is no sentence at all. It just shows the clout that Hollywood lawyers have because of the 'stature' of their clients.
