LOS ANGELES (Sept. 18) - If there's two things obvious about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, it's these things: Firstly, they really enjoy children. Secondly, they're all about supporting causes they feel strongly about. Hence, Brad Pitt's donation to help save California's gay marriage policy.
Pitt has donated $100,000 to fight California's November ballot initiative that would overturn the state Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage.

It's the first time voters will be asked to ban same-sex marriage in a state where gay couples already have won the right to wed. Same-sex marriage is legal in Massachusetts and California.
It's the first time voters will be asked to decide the issue in either California or Massachusetts - the states where gays have won the right to wed.
"Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8," Pitt said Wednesday.
Trevor Neilson, Pitt's political and philanthropic adviser, told The Associated Press that Pitt was surprised that his colleagues in the entertainment industry had not donated more money to support the battle against Proposition 8.
Earlier in the week, Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced they donated $2 million to help fight HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia.

Even though we totally hearted her before, this photo of Penelope Cruz in Woody Allen's 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' earned her a place in our heart forever.

Ben Kingsley is officially the coolest dude on the planet. The Oscar-winning actor has been getting a bit eccentric lately, and playing Ian Mackaye in this faux video for a legendary Minor Threat song is just too cool to explain.

Andy Samberg has basically become the only reason to watch 'Saturday Night Live.' He solidified himself further in our crush bank with the terrifyingly genius 'Space Olympics.'

Duranimal4: Obviously your English skills (which can't be acquired on wikipedia) are not what they should be as you completely missed the point of my commentary....and if you have children in public (or private schools) you should be aware of the fact that "Civics" class (which I'm pretty sure you didn't have either) doesn't exist and in History class, textbooks will allude to our nations' history but the Bill of Rights, The Constitution, MAYBE some of Lincoln's speeches and/or Franklin' and Jefferson's works, but they are not there to be studied and learned...people in America have been dumbed down and each generation it just becomes more and more apparent to all...especially this countries' enemies abroad. The sense of pride in our forebears has been completely lost. It's glaringly evident in our current culture, hence: b.pitt & his bedmate...amongst hundreds of other celebrities that are so scrutinized and idolized. We, as a nation, have become the underbelly of the world...

They are a study in cluelessness (Brad and Angelina) - they keep having kids, yet refuse to marry. They support AIDS causes and they support homosexual sex. GO FIGGER

Marriage: Two people swear to God, each other, and all the witnesses they can gather that they will love each other, forsaking all others, until they die. Half of them then divorce. If there is a threat to marriage, it is not homosexuals being allowed to marry, it is heterosexuals being allowed to divorce.

If civil unions are the same as marriage, why the fight? If marriage isn't different there will be no difference in our society, except that the taxpayers will save the money it will cost when this once again comes before, and is shot down, by the supreme court. If civil unions are the same, why don't heterosexuals form them? Ask yourself if you would be happy with a civil union rather than a marriage. I would not.

Those of you who reas the bible know that the bible states many things in which we as society do not abide (e.g. ownership of slaves, beating of slaves, multiple wives, and going to war over religion). This "sin" (if it is one) is easier to persecute than the others.

I doubt you know many gays and lesbians. I do, let me clue you in. We have friends, jobs, family, pets, hobbies, fun, chores etc much like you. However, we don't feel the need to tell people they HAVE to change or call them names because they might be different than us. YOU HAVE NO FACTS just wrong preconceived ideas and a huge lack of education when it comes to other people.HATE IS NOT A FAMILY VALUE

CUTNEDJ 10:02 PMSep 19 2008 TO ALL YOU HATERS OUT THERE, JUDGING OTHERS IS A SIN. YOU WILL HAVE TO ANSWER FOR THAT ONE.-------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------Quoting God's word is no sin. As for Brad Pitt, an adulterous liberal that could not even honor the meaning of the word marriage, where his onw marriage to the beautiful Jennifer Aniston was concerned, now wants to speak out on what marriage is? That would be funny, if it were not so pitiful. THE VOTERS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD ON QUEER MARRIAGE, NOT BRAD PITT.Oh, My God! I said "queer" in a politically-correct world! Here comes the labels! A-A-a-a-a-h-h-h-hhh!!!!

Um Gwynevere I don't know which schools you went to but-"In the United States, freedom of religion is a constitutionally guaranteed right provided in the religion clauses of the First Amendment. Freedom of religion is also closely associated with separation of church and state, a concept which was written of by Thomas Jefferson." Wikipedia is your friend.
