(Jan. 7) -- Lisa Marie Presley, a good friend of John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston, has taken to her blog to lend her support to her friends during this tough time, and also to set the record straight for those looking to link Scientology to the death of their son Jett.
In the post, Presley opens by calling Travolta and Preston "the sweetest people in the world," who are now enduring "the worst possible tragedy a parent could be forced to endure." Presley continues, saying that while much of the media have been supportive and sympathetic, "there are those certain ones that want to use this horrible tragedy as an opportunity to once again, blame and or attack Scientology."

Presley, a Scientologist herself, writes that "now is NOT the time" for such theories to be discussed, saying that despite the "misinformation" about the controversial religion, it is "an Unconstitutional Injustice to partake in and encourage such condemnation."
Lisa Marie takes a particular stand against those who believe or wonder if Scientology's view on medicine played a role in the death of 16-year-old Jett.
"It is not true that Scientologist's 'Don't believe in' medical care, medicine or medical Doctors and that may have something to do with this terrible tragedy. Just like anyone else, If one is sick , they go to the doctor, If a medication will make it better then they take it. If they don't then they are an idiot and you can't blame their religion," she wrote. "Whatever medical and or physical condition Jett had, I can tell you first hand that his parents were on a tireless, never ending quest to get and provide him with the absolute best care anyone could ever ask for and need, Medically, physically, emotionally, medicinally and spiritually."
Presley says she's "not writing this to preach my beliefs," but merely to "protect my friends." Speaking directly to those who may have linked the religion to Jett's death, she asks that they "not use the tragic death of a child to facilitate your insatiable need to attack and destroy Scientology."

Debie091866, Is their grief any less because of their religion? Of course not. Whether their Scientologist or not shouldn't have anything to do with having, feeling, showing etc. grief. People are just making comments on the Scientology cult, because 'supposedly' the parents are a member of it We don't really know if they are a member of this cult or not really.

I would think they would have done a proper autopsy. But, why were they in such a hurry to cremate (I'm not much a believer of cremation, but just my opinion and this doesn't really matter anyways). It just as if they would have had it done here in the states. Just my opinion.

LorePD, Okay, why did we ask Tom Cruise for comments on John Travolta's son's death, or anything else not related to him?? He might have spoke up in behalf of Scientology. Maybe they try to get people in the limelight (like actors, etc) to join their organization, to hopefully bring the average person into it too. I don't really know if the organization condones formal medication/treatment or not. Any group/organization not following the Bible is a cult.

Is their grief any less because of their religion? I, for one, don't believe so. The loss of a child is a devastating tragedy to endure. Ask anyone who has lost a child, under any circumstances. My heart goes out to John, Kelly and the rest of the family on the loss of a beautiful young man.

Sientology is a real Shaman's type of religion..They work on the rich to get their money and their minds and then they recruit the druggies and alcholics as well to purify this world..What a farse...That scientology is the biggest scam going as R on L Hubbard wasn't buried deep enough..Maybe he was cremated where they spread his ashes all over a cow pasture or horse ranch..He was a real piece of work...
