BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (Dec. 9) - Adding another shocking twist to an already unbelievable story, the woman arrested in the shooting death of actor Mark Ruffalo's younger brother was cleared of wrongdoing and released after police were shown evidence that the wound was self-inflicted, her attorney said Wednesday.
Jail records confirmed that Shaha Mishaal Adham, 26, left the facility in Beverly Hills where she'd been held without bail since turning herself in Monday afternoon on an attempted murder arrest warrant.
Attorney Ronald Richards said he presented evidence to detectives during a five-hour meeting Tuesday night that proved Adham did not shoot Scott Ruffalo early Dec. 1. He said Ruffalo's gunshot wound to the head was self-inflicted - that Adham was essentially a witness to a game of Russian Roulette.
"This was an accidental shooting by someone that plays with guns," Richards said. He credited police with being "more than impartial with the facts."
Richards said Adham, a friend of Scott Ruffalo's, had gone to the hairdresser's condo to retrieve keys to her sport utility vehicle, then fled the scene.
"A series of wrong decisions starting with her not staying at the scene of the shooting caused an incredible chain reaction of stupidity and bad luck," Richards said. He said she received poor legal advice from other attorneys before her surrender.
Richards said no charges would be pursued against Adham. A police sergeant said more information would be released Wednesday.
Another man wanted for questioning, Brian B. Scofield, was released after turning himself in for questioning Monday.

Scott Ruffalo died late Monday after being removed from life support at a Los Angeles hospital, police said in a statement released Tuesday.
His family thanked supporters and announced the creation of a fund in his honor in a Tuesday evening statement.
"Mark Ruffalo and his family deeply appreciate the outpouring of prayers and support during this most difficult time of the passing of Scott Ruffalo, beloved son, brother and husband," the statement read.
The family said the funeral service would be private.
Mark Ruffalo, 41, has appeared in films such as "Zodiac," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," and this year's "Blindness."

Mark Ruffalo also play in that movie JUST LIKE HEAVEN to with Reese Witherspoon, which i must say was a good movie really .. Now his brother will be there so sad .. This is why people should not play with guns.. I'm sure he was on drugs or drunk because what moron would play with a gun or a game like that if they were sober sheesh .. Anyways, I feel for his family, and good luck to them .. : /

What's up with that smirk on Adham face? That pic was a police shot! I'd have puffy eyes from being so upset! She looks too at peace with herself.

A sad turn of events indeed ... everyone was so quick to make racial slurs and judgment on this woman instead of waiting for the facts! Regardless of her ethnic background she is still presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The real tragedy here is Scott Ruffalo ... a young man who has passed albeit by his own hands, still a tragedy. He leaves behind grieving family and friends who deserve and need support not ridicule. May they all be comforted in their time of sorrow.

Rothaymere. If you would just think about it, this fund is most likely about educating people about suicide. Why do you have a problem with the family members wanting to start up a trust fund? If you don't like it, then no one is saying that you have to contribute to it, but think about the other family members and how they are hurting reading your BS. It is none of your business and it is none of my business. Why is it that whenever somone who is famous dies or is hurt that the wackos comw out in force? I am not speaking about your post, but the nut who made the idiotic statement about Bush.. I certainly am glad he is leaving office, but where do people get "Has anyone blamed Bush yet?" I think it was the Sponge person who posted it, and the ignorance of that person is showing...To Scotts family. I know this must be so painfuul for you, and you will be in my thoughts...I am so sorry about Scott.. PHN

This explanation sounds real sketchy. Was Rufalo's brother gay? A lot of times murders of gays aren't taken seriously. And it is California after all, where the majority of African-Americans and Hispnaics allegedly voted against gay marriage. So its a state filled with prejudice against gays.I don't know what's going on out there. A lot of haters.

Cops don't care if they arrest innocent people. Prosecuters don't care if they prosecute innocent people. Judges don't care if the sentence innocent people. Executioners don't care if they execute innocent people.

All they had to say was he pulled the trigger during russian roulet and they fled the scene and they walk? WTF? They were there while someone was playing a deadly game that they participated in, they should be charged! I don't believe their story one bit.
