MALIBU, Calif. (Oct. 16) - Ryan O'Neal and his son, Redmond, were charged Wednesday with possession of methamphetamine.
Both face felony drug possession charges, deputy district attorney James Garrison said. Redmond O'Neal, 23, also faces misdemeanor charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of pepper spray.

He and his 67-year-old actor father are scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 13.
The father and son were arrested Sept. 17 after deputies searched their Malibu home, part of Redmond's probation. Police said drugs were found on Redmond and in Ryan O'Neal's living area.
Ryan O'Neal's attorney said the drugs did not belong to his client.
"It's unfortunate because Ryan O'Neal didn't possess methamphetamine, doesn't use methamphetamine and it wasn't his methamphetamine," attorney Mark Werksman said. "He never should have been prosecuted for this. We intend to vigorously challenge these charges in court, where they should be dismissed."

If you call 911 for any reason Police can search you house, because it is a declared emergency. Calling 911, you give up all you rights. Thanks to President Bush, Homeland Security, and the Patriot Act. All have become tools of Police Abuse. In an Emergency situation, all Civil Rights, and Liberties are suspended. Fact received this ruling in court personally.

To rosesandlillies4, Your description of peple with schizophrenia is way off base. I have someone who was diagnosed with this illness in my family. There are MANY different degrees of this illness and if you are going to make comments in reference to this, or any illness, then know all of the facts. It's irresponsible to do otherwise. And unfair to those with this illness and to their families. That said.... I'm sorry for Redmond. He has obviously not been parented well and hasn't developed a sense of himself. When one feels lost, you tend to go the wrong way. And wasn't there a question of the legality of searching Ryan O'Neill's room since he wasn't also on probation? Pitiful story.

Kid was on parole, so police check on him. Why are they searching fathers room, Mr O'Neil was not on parole. Kid brings drugs into house, police will arrest the parent. Standard operating proceedure, go for the money. Justice has little to do with guilt or innocence. If your child gets arrested, put him on the street. In the Police States of America you have no Civil Rights. I'll bet a good amount of personal property was seized as well, but never turned in.

Scott Meth is illegal because it is deadly. It is the MOST deadly drug out there. I have worked the justice system and have seen the horrific consequences. The chemicals used to make it are TOXIC the labs are all toxic and CAN EXPLODE, the people can be HIGHLY PSYCHOTIC, and can PERMANENTLY fry their neuroreceptors, which make them pretty much permanently like someone with Schizophrenia. They are highly paranoid and stay up for days at a time, black out their windows so no one knows what they're doing, even recycle their own urine to reuse the drugs, which is toxic itself. But anyway, sure, we'll act like it's a gov't plot to keep you away from taxed meth, just like pot...right?

Dad looks more like the user in the photos, but maybe I'm wrong...just look at his cheeks and lips. If the opposite is true, then I guess that shows you that you can never really tell. But it should show up in blood tests....

If your kid brings drugs into your house, you will be arrested. The laws are worse than the drugs.

The faces of Hollywood. Doesn't it seem these two reflect the attitude and "Face" of the people who live in that "Glass House World" out there? What gives them the right to pontificate to others in the real world. Hell, if it isn't written down for them, they are as stupid as stupid does (Forrest Gump".Come to think of it, when the makeup comes off...the look like profesional ballplayers in the same police lineup. And they are to preach to us about who is the best candidate, world issues, and values!!!................ BS!Hkendo1
