Since the beginning of beehived singer Amy Winehouse's reign as British soul-pop queen, her personal life has been up for public consumption. Her struggles with substance abuse were the brunt of the joke in her first smash hit, 'Rehab,' and what followed was a series of boozy performances and antics that painted her a rebel, not a tragic figure.
But how soon things change: Since her first performance in the U.S., where she stated bluntly, "I really enjoy alcohol," we've had our heart broken repeatedly by images of the singer shirtless and crying in the street, reports of drug abuse after her many attempts at rehab, her respiratory problems -- not to mention her tragic relationship with incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil. But most recently, her frail figure has been the focus of concern. To that end, take a look back on the singer's better yesteryears below and join us in hoping the wonderfully talented Winehouse can come out of all this OK.

AMY IS SUCH A GREAT AND TALENTED SINGER, SO VERY SOULFUL ARE HER SONGS. WE LOVE HER AS AN ARTIST AND WISH HER A RECOVERY SOON. SHE'S ALREADY WON 5 GRAMMIES AND THERE COULD BE SO MANY MORE IF ONLY SHE SEEKS SOME ASSISTANCE. GOD BLESS YOU AMY.

Every time I see or hear her name in the media I expect it to be news of her death. We've all been watching her die one pictue at a time, yet no one helps her. A sad comment on what our society has become.

it's ridiculous how many of you want to blame everybody except for her. She's the one with the problem and friends and loved ones can only do so much.If Amy doen't wnt to help herself others can't make her do it.It's her problem and until she realizes it she'll never get past it.

Wow..the before and after pictures are astounding. It's like the pictures of what crack does to you within 6 months. She was once a very pretty girl. So sad...isn't there something someone can do for her? Doesn't England have institutues that last longer than 6 wks? She needs a full year.

Well the record companies and concert producers need to stop enabling her by giving her work. I have a nephew with real talent that is struggling while this unfortunate excuse for a person is raking in the bucks.

I believe that talented people only live so long until they are heard or seen. Most all talent leaves early in life and most are tragic. She is a very talented preformer and her family n loved ones should be guiding her if they want to save her. the media says she can die in a year they better wake up and look again she can die at any moment and the entire world is watchin n allowin it instead of hospitalizin her she needs help n yet no one can or shall i say will help her . if she does she did her job in life she brought the world great music and poetry in her music. she is a great artist and i give her my support and prey for her to see her make it in life and become someone she used to be before she destroyed her beautiful self. She will always be a icon of great music in my eyes no matter what she has done or is doing . one love amy <33333 Hope one day she snaps out of it.

she is very sickly looking. someone needs to help her. instead of her parents trying to get her money, they need to take her out of the public eye and get her some help. serious help!!!

She sounds like a screaming cat when she sings. She needs all those drugs so as to not hear herself. She's on deaths doorway she should just turn the knob.

IF LOVE COULD CURE HER AS A PARENT OF A 41 YR. OLD SON IN THE SAME CONDITION,AS PARENTS I'M SURE AMY'S MOM AND DAD WOULD DO IT. HE GREW UP WITH THE HEAVY METAL MUSIC THAT TRULY BROKE GROUND FOR THIS BEHAVIOR, BUT WHEN SOMEONE CAN'T ANY LONGER BE IN CONTROL OF THEIR OWN LIFE AND OUR HANDS ARE TIED, YOU LET THEM GO AND PRAY. WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN IN DETOX AND TOLD IF THEY USE BOOZE AND DRUGS AGAIN THEY ARE GOING TO DIE AND THEY LEAVE THAT HOSPITAL AND GO TO BUY SOME BOOZE, THEY ARE ADDICTS THAT HAVE NO CONCERN ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS OF ANY KIND,PARENTS BECOME THEIR ENIMIES..THEIR BEST FRIEND IS THE VICODIN AND BOOZE, SO YOU TRY TO LIVE YOUR LIFE AND IF THE PHONE RINGS ONE NIGHT,YOU'LL BE HEARTBROKEN BUT KNOW FINALLY THEY SUFFER NO MORE. GOD BLESS ANY AND ALL ADDICTS, THIS IS ONE THING THEY HAVE TO WANT,IF THEY DON'T THEY KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN.
