(Dec. 3) - Pete Wentz admits Ashlee Simpson's unplanned pregnancy actually helped turn his life around from his rock star ways. The Fall Out Boy bassist reveals in the December issue of Details that his newborn son Bronx Mowgli was the "happy accident" that caged his inner wild child.

In 2005, Wentz attempted an overdose on Ativan (an anti-anxiety medicine) because he was facing major depression at the time. But now Wentz, 29, says those days are far behind him, especially after Heath Ledger's death in January.
"Dude, after Heath Ledger... I was just like, man, this is not going to end up good," Wentz said of Ledger's death due to drug-overdose.
Now Wentz says his life is better than ever, especially with Simpson by his side. The couple married in May, and Simpson gave birth to their first son on Nov. 21.
"I realized I'd found my soul mate, and it made me want to be a better person," he says. "Now, with the baby, I want to be the best dad I can be... I think that certain things happen for a reason in your life."

SENSIU: yeah, it WAS an unplanned pregnancy. NO they didn't use birth control. at least they were RESPONSIBLE enought NOT to 1. get an abortion 2. give it up for adoption. pete was right; it was a "happy accident". no they DIDN'T PLAN on having a kid, but in the end they got married and the baby made them happy anyway. what's so wrong about that? i don't see anything wrong. i've made many mistakes (not getting preggers or anything) and in the end something GOOD came out of it.

ANGELINPC84...I acknowledge the fact that women get pregnant despite being on the pill, or whatever method of birth control they use. It does happen. However, if that were really the case Pete would have said so in the article. After all, it would make them at least look responsible enough to use birth control. The article said "unplanned pregnancy" and no mention of birth control. In your case you were responsible enough to practice birth control. I also got pregnant despite using birth control. I had been on the pill for a long time & my dr. gave me a diaphragm to use...lousy method and it didn't work. Back to the pill which I used successfully & quit using it when I wanted to get pregnant. The "celeb pregnancy" pattern is there...we see it all the time...Britney, her sister, Nicole Richie...on an on. They aren't using birth control and they're getting pregnant.

ANGELINEPC84...No, I don't know them personally but I have noticed a pattern in the celebs who have gotten pregnant without benefit of marriage. They date for a while, and then all of a sudden the woman is pregnant. We're talking about women who have all the advantages, who could easily prevent a pregnancy, women who can afford birth control, and the man who also could use birth control. Gee, somehow these celebs wind up preggers, then may or may not marry. Why is it that we poor working grunts practice birth control successfully for the most part and those celebs can't. It's because they DON'T....Sure, I know that "accidents" happen, but to believe that all these celebs are having "accidents" is ridiculous. No where in this article did he say they were practicing birth control, which if they were, he'd be the first to say it.

At least these two did get married, yes? By the way, did Sarah Palin's 17 year old knocked up daughter ever marry the baby's daddy? Just asking all the judgemental conservatives out there putting these two adults down for getting pregnant before marriage.....

How childish, to say: your child is an accident. People have sex, without using some form of birth control....

Ok, for all you people that equate a car crash that you did not intend to have with taking more than 1 to 4 pills a day as an accident, how do you do that? I have taken prescription medication for years and I have never overdosed on any of them. If anything I don't take enough, I forget to take my meds before I go to bed or maybe when I get up, but I have never "accidently" taken 4 or 10 or 20 of them, it tells me right on the bottle how many and how oftent to take them. I can read, apparently this guy can't. Accident my ***.

It was not an accident. Boy had some problems. Seems he's feeling better and that's great for them. Too bad about the baby's name though.
