Please, why won't someone just take her and lock her in a cellar for a year, giving her just good food and love. If I were her mother that is what I would do. It would be worth the trouble I would get in if she pressed charges. After that, then I would know I had truly done all I could to help my child.

Before I clicked on the headline, I knew exactly who they were talking about. It is truly sad that someone can do this to themselves. I have had the same "death watch" feeling about her, for some time now. very sad. People like this really need prayer.

Just to clarify... I meant, her voice wouldn't be attractive to SOME. It's not polished and perfect and mainstream. But she can definitely carry a tune, and there's a lot of emotion there. Listened to her singing "Valerie" with minimal accompaniment and I thought it sounded good. I'd like to see some of these pop-tarts singing without full bands hiding their inadequacies.

Y'know... I never heard of Amy Winehouse until she started making a bloody MESS of herself. Been reading about her antics for a year or so now... looking at the pics... reading the comments... thinking, what a waste product. Never bothered finding out what she was about because the stories and pics turned me off. Today, curiosity finally got the best of me and I went to YouTube and listened. What a sad waste of talent. While I can see her voice wouldn't be attractive to many, there is a melancholy quality to it that I really liked and I think many could relate to. She's a grown woman and can do what she wants, but I find it amazing that no one seems to be trying to intervene. Too bad they can't hand her over to her dad (or SOMEONE who can intervene), it seemed to work for Britney Spears...
