i'm really concerned about kanye, and his future. what bothers me is that they got caught up in the profile of american standards. i'm sure that they came from a very religious family, and got caught by what other people think. these people are trying to sell music, and popurality. answer? the doctor goes out and get's drunk?

Wow...A LOT of you people scare the living crapola out of me......especially when I consider the horrifying fact that you quite possibly will or have already served on juries. I cannot believe some of the comments you people have made based on three vague paragraphs on a gossip web site. A celeb's mother died the day after surgery and now he's a killer with a scalpel? You completely disregard the fact that the autopsy showed she died of HEART DISEASE, which is EASILY seen by the Pathologist. He was arrested (as far as I can see) ONCE for dui, while many of the celebs he's worked on have at least three. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....when you get the jury notice in the mail, write "mentally incompetent" in the "excuse" section and save an innocent life.

just because he got a dui doesnt mean that he has an alcohol problem. Lets face it the majority of you people critisizing him at one point or another have driven with a few drinks in you after dinner maybe...or a party...so lets not be the judge, jury and exicutioner on this guy...C'mon people

Niccijulien78: Yes, the women patients went to this doctor for surgery, but they believed they were seeking help from a qualified, ethical, SOBER surgeon! And people do research the backgrounds of Drs. as much as is possible, however you can't possibly know what there is no record of. Many Doctors and other professionals practicing today aren't respectful of the health and well being of their clientele! Ms. West and others sought the services of someone they believed to be a competent surgeon. They aren't responsible for his incompetence, alcohol abuse or lack of ethics and moral fiber. HE IS! His recklessness is dangerous and cost a life. And, by the way, doctors are responsible for being informed on ANY health conditions any patient may have. *He could have caused other deaths in his vehicle as well as with his scalpel!

Seems rather harsh compared to Nichole Richie's sentence to serve four days in jail. Remember she was arrested after failing a sobriety test, driving the wrong way on an exit ramp and she admitted to using marijuana and Vicodin before driving. She served just 82 minutes before she was released due to "over crowding." Perhaps the good Doc can expect the same treatment if he is considered a "nonviolent offender."
