(Jan. 9) - Even though Rapper Kanye West considers himself the "greatest entertainer of this generation," he can still make a few resolutions, right? In the February issue of VIBE, West admits he wants to "make popular music, have less fans... and pose naked." (via MTV.)

West, whose latest album '808s & Heartbreak' was released on Nov. 24, opens up about what he wants musically, which may disappoint some fans. "I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans," he said.
He later clarified that by "less fans" he meant having a core of devotees who understand him, rather than a massive group of listeners who only like him because he's the popular singer of the moment.

Kanye Mr. Humble' West

"I believe I am the greatest entertainer of this generation. I go neck-and-neck on Jay-Z and [Lil] Wayne as far as who's the best lyricist," Kanye West said in VIBE magazine's February issue.

"I am protecting my personal space since there are no laws to protect that for me," West said. "The fact that [a photographer] could get me arrested off a mere complaint, but I can't ask him to stop taking pictures of me is very lopsided." -- defending his recent scuffle with the paparazzi

"There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin [Timberlake] went on vacation I made albums, and it just came out to be that." -- on Timberlake's supposed failure to become music's top dog due to a lack of new albums.

"I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice." -- quote from a Nov. 12 interview.

"It's me settling into that position of just really accepting that it's one thing to say you want to do it and it's another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan." -- quote from a Nov. 12 interview.

"If I was more complacent and I let things slide, my life would be easier, but you all wouldn't be as entertained. My misery is your pleasure."-- quote from a 2006 Rolling Stone interview

    Amy Sussman, Getty Images

"We were obviously dealing with f------ idiots who didn't really have the capacity to really put on this show properly. They tried 2 give me a time slot were it was still light outside. I have a f------ light show dumb a---, it's not called glow in the dark for no reason squid brains." -- blaming the organizers for Bonnaroo problems.

    Jeff Kravitz, FilmMagic.com

"Oh hell no! This video cost a million dollars! I had Pam Anderson, I'm jumping across canyons and s---! If I don't win, the awards show loses credibility." -- on losing at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards

    Damian Dovarganes, AP

"In America, they want you to accomplish these great feats, to pull off these David Copperfield-type stunts. You want me to be great, but you don't ever want me to say I'm great?" -- quote from a 2006 Rolling Stone interview

    Frank Micelotta, Getty Images

"That's two years in a row, man ... give a black man a chance. I'm trying hard, man, I have the ... number one record, man." -- on not winning a 2007 VMA

    Getty Images

"I want the freedom of having less fans. It's like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility," West said.
Using musician Bjork as an example, the rapper insinuates that "if she wanted to pose naked, you'd be like, 'Oh, that's Bjork.' But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it," he told VIBE.

"I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I'll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture," West said.
But West cannot help but compare himself to other R&B musicians. While he admits singer Beyonce is the "greatest performer of our generation," he sees himself as the "greatest entertainer of this generation."
"I go neck-and-neck on Jay-Z and Lil Wayne as far as who's the best lyricist," he said.

Um, Mr West I think we have to wait until this generation has passed before we could honestly assess who was its best entertainer. And yes that goes for "performer" Beyonce Knowles too.

It's funny watching this moron constantly make a fool out of himself. Arrogance really doesn't define what this guy is. In all seriousness it really seems like he suffers from a narrsasitic personality, wich is a ligitamate mental condition. Therapy is what this retard needs. Not to mention that he's a big fish in a dirty pond called rap. There is a reason why there are an almost endless amount of rappers, and that's because it doesn't take an awfull lot of talent to pull it off. as long as your not white or Asian and can hold a beat you can become rap star(obvious exception being mnm). They rip of music from people that are actually talented enough to make music(sampling)then put tright ridiculous lyrics over it and call it thier own.

This guy makes me sick. He is a legend in his own mind. Hey, Kanye, some news, YOU ARE NOT THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF YOUR TIME OR ANY TIME. He cries like a baby and throws a fit when he doesn't get an award. He is weird and talentless.
