(Nov. 18) - Prince shows his true colors on the touchy subject of gay marriage in a rare new interview, and his views may surprise fans of the man who taught the world how to "Cream" and "Get Off."
"God came to Earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever," he says in the new issue of the New Yorker magazine, presumably referring to Sodom and Gomorrah or the Flood. "And he just cleared it all out. He was, like, 'Enough.'"

The 50-year-old funk icon, who seven years ago became a Jehovah's Witness and therefore does not vote, also talks about politics and religion and his disagreements with both parties.

On the Right: "So here's how it is: you've got the Republicans, and basically they want to live according to this," he says while pointing to a Bible. "But there's the problem of interpretation, and you've got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn't."
On the Left: "And then on the opposite end of the spectrum ... you've got the Democrats, and they're, like, 'You can do whatever you want.' Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right."
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has a source within the Prince camp that claims the singer was misquoted by the magazine's writer, who was said to have not used a recording device. "We're very angry he was misquoted," says the Prince insider.
In a behind-the-scenes piece on NewYorker.com, the interviewer expands on the political discussion she had with the singer:
"We were having a larger conversation about his belief system and his politics. He told me he didn’t have a horse in the November election and that he didn't believe in getting involved with these kind of earthly contests. I had asked him if the fact that Obama was black didn’t compel him to get involved.

He said, 'Why?'

And I said, Well, because you're black.

And he said 'Am I?' and held up his wrist next to my ruddy one. Indeed his skin was lighter, and he cracked up."

First of all. I'm gay. Second of all this man doesnt vote. he doesnt value his opinion enough so why should i? i turned 18 right after the election and was very mad that i didnt get a chance to say what i wanted. why isn't he mad? id rather listen to the bible thumpers than a man who didnt vote. at least they got off their asses and got into it. And finally, i believe in civil unions and cant understand why we cant meet in the middle. get the civil unions with all the rights of marriage and then were out of your hair.

Who cares what people thought thousands of years ago! People thought stupid things 50, 100, 300 years ago! And reading these comments, even today! Now we have science and can learn from the past! The earth is not flat, the earth is not the center of the universe, the moon is not made of cheese, the ground does not shake because god is mad, there are other planets, men should not own slaves, black people do exists (the bible does not mention them), women can work, women can vote, thunder is not god bowling, earth is not 6 thousand years old, man did not ride on the back of dinosaurs (some christians opened a museum showing this!) , man is an animal that evolved (well most) on this planet! And so on! Looks like we are headed for the new dark ages!!! Dam people get a clue EVOLVE your brain! STOP telling others what to do! OR what to think! If someone wants to believe in your fairytail book, they can go buy one and read it! OR listen to some man tell them what to think! Besides NO person o...

Gdboy: And if we are talking "RELIGION", how many of you have had sex out of marriage? Been married more than once?? Your bible considers that as big a sin as well as homosexuality. As far as gays being lost souls?****Anyone who tries to put gays down, is not showing love toward gays, obviously. BUT to encourage them in their destructive lifestyle is not to love them but to despise them. The Christians I know welcome gays and help them to come out of bondage to their sin just as we do for any person struggling with sin who has seen the Truth in God's Word about their particular sin. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" and it is God's desire that all would come to repentance and the forgiveness He provides, and be saved.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I respect that Prince has one. And i agree with him. Although I am gay, I would not want to have a "marriage" to someone I Love. Straights have already given the marriage issue a bad name in itself. IS not the divorce rate among younger marriages 50 percent?? And if we are talking "RELIGION", how many of you have had sex out of marriage? Been married more than once?? Your bible considers that as big a sin as well as homosexuality. As far as gays being lost souls?? Get a life!! Next time you buy the latest fashion, have your hair done at a salon, or watch HGTV, you in effect are supporting that LIFESTYLE you so abhorrently despise. the Gay community is the majority on those industries. We are just as sane as any other God Fearing Christian on this earth. ANd most of us truly DO believe in God. JoseChillyChez- We know who the lost souls are. The ones who judge us on whom we sleep with. Not our strong points. I am sure you have not sinned as we...

This is funny coming from a man who paraded around in platform and stilleto boots, and outfits made completely out of purple velvet. Bet he got a lot of flack for that at some point in his life, prior to being famous... probably made him mad and now he's anti-gay. Funny how he was allowed to live his life and screw most of the 80's female icons, and not a single one did he stay with, but now he's found religion and is a gieger counter for moral reason. Whhhhhaaaaaaaaaateveeeeeeeeeerrrr. Prince, you're still a queer to me and I mean that in a good way!
