(Sept. 23) - After striking platinum 2006's 'The Evolution of Robin Thicke,' the soul singer needed a change. So Robin Thicke penned new material and entitled the collection, fittingly, 'Something Else.'

"After two years of singing the same songs every day and being on the road, I needed something else," Thicke told PopEater. But the album's title expands on the notion of change, Thick, the son of '80s TV star Alan Thicke and soap veteran Gloria Loring, says, particularly that of political change.
"I felt like with what Barack Obama's talking about and what we're going through as a country right now, it's time for something else."
That notion spawned the sultry first single, 'Magic,' an ode to presidential candidate Obama. "It was summertime and it was Barack Obama time," Thicke says about the song's choice as first single. "I wanted people to feel that they had magic inside of them and magic was possible. And that the world was going to be a better place with Barack Obama in the White House."

The fist settlers of this nation spoke Portugese, then French allong the Mississippi, and the Northern Border states, Spanish in Florida, California and English in the Original 13 colonies. english has evolved in this country. If you read original documents from the 17th and 18th century the word are different then what they would be today. The people who spek Spanish in Texas, Florida, and other Spanish areas, are speaking the European language that was originally there. You can keep your mind closed to other languages, but that will limit you in your pursuits in life. I have friends from Japan who speak and write in English fluently and also in French. I know someone from Germany who speaks fluently in her native language, Chinese and English. They live here in the US and contribute greatly to society.

So sick and tired of 'political correctness'A post stated so and so was not black - she was 'African American'.Well - it is about time that whatever your point of 'origin' was - either go back their and enjoy it - or stay here and become just a plain old AMERICAN!An American who pays taxes, who speaks English as the language of their adopted country, an American who wants to be absorbed into the mainstream of all that this country offers. If there was less of this 'African American, or 'Euro American or wherever - perhaps SOME differences would/could heal.

So, So, So sick of Hollywood shoving their political views down the consumer's throats. The can embrace a socialistic policy man like Obama because they have plenty of money to sponsor his programs. What about the rest of us who work our collective butts off to make a better living for our families?? Where do we fit in in Thicke's "Magic"? The "Hollywood Privileged", and he's been one his whole life, continue to have such a skewed persepctive of reality!!!

By the 1980's it became common knowledge amongst biologists and anthropologists that "race" does not exist. Humans are classified under the same taxonomomic species without subspecies. The color of skin a person is born with is due to the dominant phenotype they inherited fron their parents. This phenotype was created through evolution, adaptation, and sometimes mutation. Therefore, "race" does not exist. The culture asociated with people of different ancestral backgrounds is what obsesses this nation into categorizing people into a category that does not exist other then in the psyche of the ignorant.

I can assure you that Thicke is an opportunist, and he did this to elevate his own star to an international audience. It should be expected, though, from self-serving megalomaniac artistic sorts.McCain/Palin
