The Food Network celebrity chef was trying to do some good by volunteering for the pre-Thanksgiving Hosea Feed the Hungry food drive in Atlanta, and before she new it, she was hit square in the face (nose and mouth, mostly) by an airborne ham that was being tossed for loading. The hour mixed direct-to-camera, separate interviews with both parents. Kate called the series' end "needless. It's useless, it's totally avoidable. ... This is a very bittersweet goodbye for me because the kids are already missing it."

While we can't wait to get this decade over with, one thing that will be missed is the music. The summer songs. The bangin' club hits. The unexpected cross-overs from one genre to the next. Holdovers from the '90s like Britney and Justin grew up and delivered, and we got to help create new stars like Kelly Clarkson and resurrect old ones like Kylie Minogue. It wasn't all great ('PopoZão,' anyone?), but when it came to the Top 40 set, this here was a great time to love music. Cee-Lo's haunting vocals seem to drift above the track's eerily minimalist guitar riff, and it never fails to give us chills. Creepy, sure. But it's also bouncy, catchy, and undeniably cool. In short, an amazing pop song. Oh, and the video is crazy as hell. Watch It:

Complaints poured in Monday about Adam Lambert's sexually charged performance at the American Music Awards, including criticism of his kiss with a male keyboard player that was left out of rehearsals for the show. ABC did not expect one of Lambert's dancers to stick his face in the singer's crotch during the S&M-themed performance of 'For Your Entertainment,' a moment that was cut out when the awards show was broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on the West Coast on Sunday.

"A lot of what I do is kind of freestyle," Lambert told The Associated Press last week about the routine's choreography. "That's how it was on 'Idol.' That's how I perform. I like to have a framework, and just do stuff. So that kind of came about because of the connection that I had with that dancer."

An eastern Ohio police chief was convicted of three felonies Monday but was acquitted of burglary charges in an alleged break-in at the home of a woman who carried twin girls for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. A jury found suspended Martins Ferry Chief Barry Carpenter guilty of receiving stolen property, theft in office and tampering with evidence. He was acquitted on charges of burglary and unauthorized used of property or services. Carpenter put his head in his hands after the verdict was read in Belmont County court. "The bottom line is that there is a victim in this case whose privacy was so gravely intruded upon," Ohio Assistant Attorney General Emily Laube said. "If you can't trust the police, who can you trust?"
