Dave's 'Sorry' About 'Flawed' Palin Joke

After a week of uproar and even a grassroots Web campaign to get David Letterman fired, the 'Late Show' issued a long and concise apology to Sarah Palin and her family for what he called a joke that was "beyond flawed." "As they say about jokes, if you have to explain the joke, it's not a very good joke. My responsibility, I take full blame for that," Letterman said.

Palin Knocks Letterman Around for Gaffe

'Late Show' host David admitted on Thursday's show that his sex-driven joke about one of Sarah Palin's daughters was in "poor taste" and invited the rising GOP star on the show to make amends. Palin, in turn, appeared on the 'Today' show on Friday and slammed his humor as "degrading," leaving her spokeswoman to turn down Dave's offer by saying "it would be wise to keep (Palin's 14-year-old daughter) Willow away from David Letterman."

White House Cites 'House' Shocker for Kal Penn's Absence

Kal Penn has yet to begin work at the White House nearly two months after his 'House' character was killed off, and in a bizarre twist, administration officials are hinting the delay is due to the "shocking" storyline of his exit. "The suicide of his character on 'House' was quite shocking," Shin Inouye, White House director of Specialty Media, told The Wrap, "so everyone thought there should be a bit of timely delay before he takes up work for the administration."
