May 4th 2011 1:39PMthe "race" card is thrown around about as much and as is as ridiculous as the "birther" thing is/was. Give it rest....everyone time tries to make something racist they further divide our country.
Apr 5th 2010 9:56AMTo all the "the parents are at fault reply"
Good for you you wonderful so awesome, always getting it right perfect parents !!! Give me a break. YOu are either NOT parents or have small children and have no clue. This was a 17 year old NOT a 7 year old. EVERY day our kids go off on their own to school, to work, to play and we have to trust that the values we have instilled in them will surpass peer pressure, weak moments, etc. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. This kid make a MISTAKE in judgement PERIOD and it cost him the ultimate price. Give his parents a break, you know NOTHING of what they did to protect their son, the circumstances surrounding their decision to let him go or anything else about their life. Do NOT judge someone until you have walked in their shoes". While stepping up the punishment for underage drinking is one way to help we need to do more to find and punish the ADULTS that are providing the liquor. There are kids out there with fake ID's but the vast majority get an older friend or adult to buy it for them. They are the ones that hit with a huge fine or jail time would think twice the second time. I called the police on more then one occasion over underage drinking in my community and tried to push the issue of the adults present and was told...."the kids were the ones drinking". Wrong avenue !
