Zach Galifianakis Didn't Smoke Pot on Show, Bill Maher Says {PopEater}

Nov 2nd 2010 2:45PM

Not true. Pay cable channels like HBO (which is where Maher's show runs) are out of the FCC's jurisdiction. The only people that could do anything about that would be the DEA, and state or local police where the show is taped. Even then, the burden would be upon them to prove that what he smoked was indeed truly pot.

Shocking Ad Links Fast Food and Death {That's Fit}

I agree with Mark that the commercial was fine until the "eat vegetarian" part at the end. Health problems attributed to the overconsumption of fast food and have nothing to do with simply eating meat. Trying to connect the two is irresponsible and borders on propaganda.

It's the type of meat, the quantity consumed, and the way in which it's cooked that cause the health issues. Two or three servings (that's four to six ounces per serving) per day of lean meat which is grilled, baked, broiled, or boiled is absolutely healthy for you. In fact, the nutrients found in meat are an essential part the human diet and necessary for proper biological functions! Now, eight strips of bacon for breakfast, a 2/3rd pound burger slathered in cheese and mayonaise for lunch and 4 pieces of fried chicken for dinner is a different story.

That being said, even fast food is OK for you once or twice a week if you don't over-order. Everything in moderation. But hey, if you want to eat 14 out of 21 meals per week at a fast food joint, I'm not going to stop you. However, we shouldn't penalize those who only eat fast food on occasion when absolutely necessary or for a rare treat because of the misguided eating habits of others.
