God, I can't stand that kid. It's too bad that he's never been properly grounded; he's just going to be another Lindsay Lohan in the near future, I'm afraid.

You know... the thing that bothers me more than anything is the putting down of others who don't believe as you do. Many, many people do NOT find religion "boring", "awkward", "old-fashioned". That's fine if that's what YOU believe; just don't expect others to jump on your bandwagon just because that's how you feel.

*shrug* I'm not an overly religious person. When my mom was dying of liver failure (nonalcoholic steatohepatitis) I prayed to God that he wouldn't take her from us. She went, unfortunately, but as much as she was suffering from this nasty thing, it was most likely a relief. Her funeral was about as "un-religious" as it could get, but was still a wonderful, moving testament to her life. And God *was* mentioned, just not a whole lot.

Like someone said previously, God has given everyone freedom to be and do as they wish. If this is how you choose to use that, so be it. I choose to believe that there's someone "up there" taking care of my family 'til I join them. It comforts me. If believing that after death there's nothing works for you, go for it. Just don't push it on me, and expect me to agree wholeheartedly. In return, I promise I won't try to convince you that there *is* a God.

Will Bloody Texting PSA Get The Message To Teens? {ParentDish}

Aug 26th 2009 7:27AM

Okay, people; JUST because it's showing a trio of teen girls doesn't mean that it's geared only towards teens and girls. I've seen SO many people doing this of BOTH genders, ALL ages, and I'm sure that's not the argument here. I'm almost positive that the message is "texting and driving kills" rather than "teens texting kills".

Now that I've got that out; my kid is only 13 but you bet your Aunt Fanny that when she becomes a little older I hope there are things like this out there to bring her immortal self to the ground level. I will ALSO show this to my 37 year old cousin and my 28 year old brother, who seem to think that it's nothing to text and drive.
