    Music star Yanni was arrested at his Manalapan home on Friday, March 3, after his girlfriend accused him of verbally abusing and pushing her during a late night argument. Manalapan police were called to the home of the 51-year-old musician, whose legal name is John Christopher, after his girlfriend called 911 from a locked bathroom late Thursday.

    Matthew Shafer, aka rock-country musician Uncle Kracker, was arrested Aug. 17, 2007, on a charge of second-degree sex offense stemming from an incident at a nightclub, authorities said.

    James Brown, the 'Godfather of Soul,' was arrested by Aiken County cops in January 2004 and charged with domestic violence after allegedly pushing his wife to the floor during an argument at the couple's South Carolina home. According to investigators, Tommie Rea Brown, 33, suffered 'scratches and bruises to her right arm and hip' during the bedroom dispute.

    Blake Fielder-Civil, husband of singer Amy Winehouse, who was sentenced to 27 months in prison at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court, for perverting the course of justice and beating up a pub manager. Fielder-Civil admitted beating up pub manager James King in a barroom fight in 2006 and then offering him 200,000 pounds (US $400,000) to keep quiet about it.

    Richie Sambora, the lead guitarist for Bon Jovi, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Sambora was charged Tuesday April 22, 2008, with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit, the Orange County district attorney's office said.

    Rapper Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, was arrested Nov. 1, 2007 after a dispute at a nightclub northeast of Atlanta, where she was accused of hitting a waitress over the head with a bottle of rum. She was charged with aggravated assault, DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said.

The estranged daughter of Billy Bob Thornton has been indicted on several charges in the death of a 1-year-old girl she was baby sitting in central Florida. Amanda Brumfield, 29, was booked at the Orange County Jail on Wednesday. She faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. Court records show she told investigators the infant who died in her care in October acted normally and ate bananas after she fell from a playpen and hit her head. But detectives believe Brumfield's story is inconsistent with the girl's injuries. The child was her goddaughter.
